Emmerdale star Louise Marwood has spoken about the White family's dramatic New Year's Day storyline, suggesting that her character Chrissie needs to change her parenting style.
Chrissie will face a horrifying situation on January 1, as her teenage son Lachlan is rushed to hospital following a bad reaction to a pill.

Louise Marwood as Chrissie White
The worrying incident comes after Lachlan starts supplying his friend Belle Dingle with 'legal highs' and she encourages him to try one himself.
Speaking of the huge New Year storyline, Marwood commented: "After Lachlan collapses and suffers a seizure, the first Chrissie sees of him is in the hospital. She gets a phone call and then she goes to the hospital with Lawrence, so she is obviously very distraught because she doesn't know what state Lachlan is in at that point.
"When they arrive, his condition is really serious. Lachlan's body is shutting down and he's in a coma. The doctors are doing their best to save him but nobody really knows what's going on and it's really fraught."

She continued: "Chrissie is furious when she finds out that Lachlan has been supplying drugs to Belle, but she thinks they can deal with that later. She wants to get him better before they deal with that, but I don't think she does deal with it, which might be why these things keep happening.
"Chrissie is just glad that Lachlan ends up being okay. She says that she wants to hug and throttle him at the same time."
Rather than disciplining her son in the aftermath, Chrissie gives her fiancé Robert Sugden a hard time as he was supposed to be spending time with Lachlan at the time of the incident. Instead, he headed off for a meeting with his secret lover Aaron Livesy.
Marwood said: "Chrissie is furious. Whenever anything goes wrong with Lachlan, she seems to blame everybody apart from him. She takes all her frustrations out on Robert for Lachlan being left alone and unsupervised.
"She's angry over the fact that Lachlan could have died because nobody was watching over him. Robert says that he went to a meeting, but she doesn't quite buy his explanation because it's New Year's Day and it's all a bit ambiguous.
"It's brushed under the carpet a little bit because of the worry and the panic. Chrissie is at her wits' end, because she has a child who is very difficult and she's not dealing with it at all. Chrissie is burying it and hoping it will go away, but it's still happening. She needs to start disciplining Lachlan, I think."
Emmerdale airs these scenes in an hour-long special on New Year's Day at 7.30pm on ITV.

I`m so sick of Charity sticking her nose in things that don`t concern her. Instead of sitting on her ar$e over at the Woolpack - she should be looking around for a new place for her and Noah to stay.
The clock is ticking Charity...tick tick tick
We all know how selfish she can be. She has better things to do with her time like find somewhere to live. But she has always been a meddler and probably thinks with Cain backing her she doesnt need to go anywhere and can go back to her old ways. She is no longer Lady of the Manor and if shes feeling down she certainly wants everyone to suffer the same.
