I wanted to tell you about my whistleblowing. I took on someone high up in the NHS locally and after months and months of the complaint being ignored and attempts to make it go away an idendependent investigator was finally appointed. Myself and my witnesses were all interviewed and we evidenced my complaint. This caused concern. Anyway they then abandoned the terms of reference so the person i complained about would not be cross examined or interviewed. I challenged this and they stopped the investigation altogether and now threatening to start it again with a new set of terms with a new investigator. They have all my evidence and are finding loopholes. I refuse to go through the process again as they will re run again and again until the person is found innocent. They have tried to sabotage the investigation at every stage and are now attempting to pull my organisation out from a contract to punish us all. I have had really bad hate mail twice and police have had to be involved. I have gone down a dress size because of it all. I have never challenged anything in this way before but really glad I did as it has exposed even more issues within the NHS...which is a bit of an old boys network if you ask me. This person is getting all the protection they need from them and they constantly think of ways the person can remain in their high position despite seeing plenty of evidence that they need to be removed. What this has shown me is that I have amazing friends, neighbours and people I work with. So what ever happens I have right on my side and can hold my head up high.but i dont know when it is all going to come to an end. Its been going on for 9 months.

What an ordeal you've been through.

I've read much about the way the NHS closes its ranks and protects its own, and it's so disappointing to know things don't seem to be getting any better. To be fair, this isn't just a problem in the NHS, it goes on in organisations throughout the world. I love the NHS and think we're so lucky to have it, but it's not without some deep problems. I remember the scandal of the cardiac surgeon (I think it was in a Bristol hospital) a decade or so ago. He killed loads of kids and it was covered up for years! Then there was the whistleblower who had to emigrate to Australia because he could no longer work in medicine in this country because he was so hated. It's appalling stuff.

I think you've been incredibly strong and brave to pursue this for nine months. It's shocking that things have got so bad the police had to be involved! I'm glad you've got so much support.

Today was a bad day tried to sleep but can't. I was horrible to the family due to what's going on. Could'nt do anything when I got home just took to my bed. They have taken on a new investigator as they said the first one was busy so couldn't complete the investigation. He just told us he was and is available so they are lying. So now I have to do a complaint to the NHS ombudsman so the investigation will be investigated. A lot of work involved. I have been doing 70 hour weeks while this is going on and thought my end was complete. So was very angry today as this is still
Taking over my life. Plus my iPad crashed just got it working now.

I hope you got to sleep afterwards.

Your family will understand. Most of us lash out at our nearest and dearest when stressed - I certainly do! An apology is all it takes to put it right.

I'm sorry to hear that they're messing you around so much. I understand you're at the end of your tether. Sleep must be a priority for you at the moment to help you get through this. A helpful tip I've picked up is to put a pinch or two of salt and sugar under your tongue when you can't sleep because your adrenalin is racing (even though you're tired). This lowers adrenalin which helps you get to sleep. It's worked for me on numerous occasions when I can't sleep because my mind is racing. It also helps at other times of stress. I keep a little pot of 5:1 sugar/salt by my bed.

Have you tried hypnosis? I've got a pretty good app by this guy that I use to relax - which in turn helps me to sleep.

I hope you're having a better day today.

Thank for that I will try it another night I have difficulties. I think I will sleep tonight as I am finding it difficult staying awake at work. I am trying to read and shortlist job applicants so maybe its just a boring task that is sending me to sleep. I think its time for a coffee. Thank you for your kindness x
