laugh out loud moment from tuesday's emmerdale. val at the dr's/clinic, when they asked her name, 'angie, angie dickinson. just call me angie.'

i'm sure some of you young whipper snappers may not get it.

    Police Woman

I like that this hiv storyline has been given to Val who is an older character

I think Charlie Hardwicke is doing an excellent job of portraying somebody getting the news they might be HIV positive and I like the fact Ian mentioned that they should have practised Safe Sex - I doubt all the other bed hopping characters in Emmerdale or other soaps even do that. HIV seems to have been forgotten about

I was willing through the screen for the nurse to say...

'dont worry about the blood taking for the test...I have the Gentle Touch....'

Val's generation is actually now the group with the highest new-case of HIV in the UK? So this is well thought out

also her initial reaction, when she asked ian how old the other infected woman was, and on hearing 33 said - oh well thats it, its a young persons thing - also reflects the ignorance of that generation and group, in that they think it cant possibly affect them?
