Neighbours love cheat Priya Kapoor will lie to her own daughter over her affair with Paul Robinson.

As revealed last week, schoolgirl Rani (Coco-Jacinta Cherian) will soon be left stunned when she spots her mum sharing an intimate moment with Paul (Stefan Dennis) outside Lassiters. The pair are saying an emotional goodbye to each other after agreeing to end their fling.

Priya is later thrown into turmoil when Rani confronts her, but she tries to come up with a quick and convincing cover story.

Menik Gooneratne, who plays Priya, told TV Week: "Priya has to think very fast for a plausible explanation as to what her daughter witnessed. Rani's a smart girl - she's definitely her mother's daughter - and Priya knows that if she hesitates even slightly, Rani will see right through it.

"She tells Rani that she gave Paul a hug and nothing more, because he was upset about his son Andrew's epilepsy and needed a friend to talk to.

"The affair is well and truly over at this point and Priya has made the decision to invest in her marriage. Telling Rani the truth would only cause pain to the ones she loves."

Although Rani decides to trust her mother, a guilty Priya later manages to reignite her suspicion when she overcompensates by buying her a present. Viewers will then be left to wonder whether the truth could still come out sooner rather than later.

Neighbours airs these scenes next week on Eleven in Australia, and in January on Channel 5 in the UK.

Neighbours star James Mason has said that there could be more rocky times ahead for his character Chris Pappas's relationship with Aidan Foster.

Erinsborough nurse Aidan (Bob Morley) faces a big career setback in an upcoming storyline as he is suspended from the hospital for submitting Andrew Robinson's recent blood tests under a fake name.

Aidan's unprofessional act is uncovered by newcomer Georgia Brookes (Saskia Hampele) when she is given the task of cleaning up incomplete patient files at work.

After being suspended, Aidan seems reluctant to spend time with Chris and instead lets off steam with a wild night on the town.

Predicting trouble in paradise, Mason told TV Week: "It's the start of Aidan pulling away from Chris. Aidan's hiding things and I think viewers will see his body language is slowly changing."

Neighbours airs these scenes next week on Eleven in Australia, and in January on Channel 5 in the UK.
