Gary Barlow has claimed that the Overs category is the one to watch on this year's X Factor.

Louis Walsh's Overs in 2011 - Sami Brookes, Kitty Brucknell, Jonjo Kerr and Johnny Robinson - struggled in the competition and the Irish judge didn't get a single act to the final.

However, Barlow has tipped the category for success this year, describing the standard of acts as "superb".

"The category to watch is the Overs. The Overs category hasn't been taken that seriously in the last few years but it has turned into the biggest contender this year," said Barlow.

    "The standard is superb."

The age limit for Overs has increased this year, from 25 to 28.

Talking about this year's overall standard, he added: "I think it's been extraordinary this year. Everybody thinks so. I have even heard cameramen saying to each other that it's such a massive improvement on
    last year.

"The standard has definitely gone up a few notches. I think the audience is going to love it."

The X Factor returns on Saturday, August 18 on ITV1.

Mo Farah has reportedly agreed to appear as a mentor on The X Factor.

Simon Cowell has been in talks with the double gold medallist as he wants the new series to capture the "spirit" of London 2012, The Sun reports.

Producers are planning an Olympics-themed episode during the live shows and hope to secure other Team GB stars to help the acts.

The Olympians will coach contestants on how to perform under pressure and perfect their craft.

"Teaming up with our athletes means they can offer training and pep talks," a source said.

"People like Mo know about dedication and hard work. It's only right we invite them to help us shape our future popstars."

A recent report suggested that bosses of reality shows such as Strictly Come Dancing, I'm A Celebrity... Get Me Out Of Here and Dancing on Ice are battling to sign Team GB stars to capitalise on the success of the Games.

The X Factor returns to ITV1 tonight (August 18) at 8pm.

It dosen't make much sence to have Mo Farah as a judge,he hasn't got the experiance as what a singer has.

Mel B has got to be the worst judge that's ever been on the X Factor, hope she doesn't come back anytime soon.
She's not al that good at singing herself.

I think she taught being the baddie would make her likeable and maybe get more exposure and the job full time
