Why haven't they been building up to Betty's death? they could have created a story-line that she was poorly and Gordon was up in Weatherfield to look after her weeks ago and progressed on from there instead of just announcing her death. When Blanche (Maggie) died. They created a story that she was in Tenerife. How could they not do something for Betty?

Agree, the oldest member of the cast ,should have built up to it, I would have loved to see Hilda Ogden return for the funeral and perhaps give one final performance of her own version of "Wish me luck as you wave me goodbye" But alas not to be.
