Yeah Alan you're spot on we didn't see that one coming did we soapfans? I doubt the turkey baster will be needed though, they'll go for the good old fashioned way that's why Alicia will try to move on from Andy because she knows that Andy will cheat on her with Debbie. Poor Alicia.

    • Jai’s adamant that Charity stays away from Cain
    • Laurel thinks some time away might help
    • Nikhil decides to take matters into his own hands
Apparently Nikhil taking matters into his own hands results in that he tells the police that Charity has lied to them. I think that means he tells them that she found Cain first and left him for dead.

Emmerdale's Christmas episode, the festive atmosphere turns sour as Debbie Dingle and Alicia Gallagher's bickering spirals out of control.

As Alicia (Natalie Anderson), Andy (Kelvin Fletcher), Cameron (Dominic Power) and Debbie (Charley Webb) all come together for Christmas dinner, Alicia is left fuming as Sarah receives a collection of lavish presents - while Jacob gets nothing in comparison.

Alicia is annoyed further when Diane and Victoria arrive with a gift for Sarah but nothing for Jacob. Mortified by her mistake, Diane gives him a hastily-wrapped tin of biscuits from the kitchen - but Alicia remains unimpressed.

As the Christmas meal begins, Alicia can't resist making snide comments to Debbie and the pair's bickering ruins the atmosphere.

In the end, Debbie gets so sick of Alicia that she pours her Christmas dinner over her head! With tensions clearly still running high over the saviour sibling plan, will things get worse as Debbie does a pregnancy test?

Doesnt look to happy at chez Barton either

    Monday

Debbie tells Andy that she's not pregnant, feeling like she has let him down. Later, Andy is confused when Debbie tells him there is another way they could try for a baby and he realises what she means. Debbie pleads with Andy that they should try the natural way, but Andy reels in shock at the suggestion, worrying about Alicia's potential reaction.

Later, when Diane tells him that Sarah comes first, it seems Andy could be coming round to the idea. He finally agrees to Debbie's proposition but is unconvinced when she tells him that Alicia will understand. Alicia tries to dissuade Andy when he tells her, but his mind seems made up. Can their relationship last?

Meanwhile, Moira is pleased when Diane tells her that Holly has called in and left her a present, but she's upset to see they are her presents returned unopened. A determined Moira takes the presents back to Butler's and tells John that she's not letting the kids go. Holly refuses to talk, but Moira's determined and stands in her way. Holly then hides her emotions when Moira's insistent that they'll all open their presents together next year.

Elsewhere, Amy struggles with the consequences of her decision.

    Tuesday

Alicia tells Andy that she understands what he and Debbie have to do, but can't be around while it's going on, so is moving back to David's. Andy is gutted when she leaves with her bag, telling him that it's never going to work. Debbie is very concerned over how Cameron will react when she hears that Alicia has finished with Andy. Cameron's rage boils over when she tells him and Debbie is shocked and scared by his reaction as he looms over her, punching the wall.

With Cameron's temper at boiling point, neither of them notice Sarah, who has come downstairs. Cameron then storms out, ashamed. At the pub, Jimmy is bewildered when Cameron suggests a business idea to him out of the blue - they could open offices down south. Cameron returns home feeling terrible for his actions but is still glowering as he takes Debbie in his arms.

Meanwhile, Zak is in a bad mood and made more furious when he sees Sean kiss Belle. Zak angrily threatens Sean, which appals Lisa. Soon afterwards, Sean goes home and tells a sceptical Ali that Zak threatened him. As Zak sits brooding, Ali arrives to tear a strip off him, adding that Belle's not so innocent either. Later, Zak tries to talk to Belle, but she stands her ground.

Elsewhere, Charity is frustrated when Debbie warns her and Jai to stay away as Cain's coming home, while Marlon agrees to a night out with Rachel but she's disappointed that he wants to invite Paddy too

    Wednesday

Cain returns home from hospital, and within minutes he complains about being treated like he's disabled. Cain hides his hurt and anger about Zak not being there when Lisa arrives with a stew she has made for them all. At the same time, Jai is disconcerted that Cain's back and he worries that Cain might walk in as he spends time at the pub.

Soon afterwards, Jai is shocked when DI Fletcher arrests him on suspicion of theft and attempted murder, while Cain is delighted when he hears the news. Jai knows he's in serious trouble when Fletcher questions him about Cain's car and is nervous as they pile on the pressure. Jai is then stunned to be charged with attempted murder.

Meanwhile, Chas watches Cameron talking to Carl and Jimmy about his business idea. Chas is concerned to hear from Carl that Cameron is planning on doing a runner.

Elsewhere, Moira is shocked when John tells her his thoughts over their future; Laurel tells Ashley that she has a meeting but Ashley wonders where she is really going; while Carl tries it on with Alicia after hearing she's single again

    Thursday

Charity is dressed for court, but Nikhil stops her from going - claiming that if she goes it will only make things worse. Cain is satisfied that Jai's in court for assault, while Debbie scrutinises Charity when she insists that Jai had nothing to do with Cain's attack.

Later, Charity is determined to sort everything out and visits Cain, telling him that she can't take anymore and has left Jai. She surprises both herself and Cain when she promises she's all his - if he drops the charges against Jai…

Meanwhile, Chas tells Carl that she has warned Cameron off the business plan with the Kings. When Chas complains about Cameron and Carl, Katie suggests that she should have a word with Debbie.

Elsewhere, Hazel offers Aaron her help, but he's impatient and she is left disappointed; Ashley is struggling with his emotions; Alicia tries to put on a brave face following her split from Andy; Edna voices her opinions about Amy and the baby; while Debbie reminds Aaron that Hazel is obviously lonely and probably needs him.

    Friday

Charity desperately wants to heal things with Debbie, hating how Cain is loving the rift between them. Charity also comes clean to Jai about how she tried to tempt Cain into dropping the charges.

Charity is desperate for someone to believe her, so she visits Zak and Lisa's place, where she insists neither she nor Jai attacked Cain. At the same time, Jai tells Nikhil about Charity's admission, insisting that she did it to help him - but Nikhil thinks it proves her guilt.

Later, Cain is taken aback when Debbie snaps, asking what she's meant to do if Charity goes to prison. Towards the end of the day, Charity is frightened when Nikhil calls the police to report her for lying.

Meanwhile, Laurel considers Nicola's suggestion as she feels the strain.

Emmerdale star Dominic Brunt has praised the soap's "exciting" Christmas episode.

The actor, who plays local vet Paddy Kirk, promised that the upcoming festive edition will show Emmerdale at its best.

Emmerdale airs an hour-long special at 6pm on Christmas Day. Storylines include troubled teen Amy Wyatt (Chelsea Halfpenny) making a final decision over her newborn baby Kyle, fresh heartbreak for Debbie Dingle (Charley Webb) and Moira Barton struggling without her family around her at Christmas.

Brunt told OK Magazine: "I've actually seen the Christmas episode - and Paddy's not in it! He'll be back in the New Year, big time. But it's an amazing episode, with three storylines that culminate.

"Down on paper, you think, that's a bit depressing for Christmas Day! But I watched it, and it's one of the most gripping and exciting episodes I've ever seen."

Natalie J Robb, who plays Moira, added: "It's probably the worst Christmas Moira has ever had!"

Emmerdale continues tonight at 7pm on ITV1.

Emmerdale's Chas Dingle lashes out at Charity Tate this evening after the feisty blonde is finally honest about the night Cain was attacked.

Still reeling after her partner Jai (Chris Bisson) was charged with attempted murder, Charity (Emma Atkins) goes all-out to defend him this evening - begging Chas and Debbie to believe that he is innocent.

When Chas (Lucy Pargeter) and Debbie (Charley Webb) refuse to listen, Charity lets slip that she knows more about what happened that night than they realise - confessing that she found Cain after he'd been attacked but did nothing.

Chas is disgusted to hear that Charity left Cain (Jeff Hordley) for dead and comes out fighting in defence of her brother - launching herself at Charity. Has Charity lost her family for good?

Emmerdale airs tonight at 7pm and 8pm on ITV1
