    !
It really angers me when people go on about me having a ''Big Pension from the Police''

Not only did I risk my life and work unsociable hours but I also had to pay 11% as Trin says.

I'm back from hols and looking like a lobster.

Only had time to look at the last post from Alan so far and I couldn't agree more. I know the police and fire fighters are in a class of their own when it comes to bravery and hours worked and should be recognised as such but it also makes me mad when I hear about "gold plated" public sector pensions in general. The average public sector pension for a woman is about £2000 PER YEAR. How gold plated is that!!!???

Now to look through all the other posts I've missed while I've been away. Anything significant happened down Walford way or up on the cobbles?

It says on the website that his book can be found in the History/Transport section. So off I took myself into town to buy the book. Afterwards wandering around both the history and transport sections for 20 minutes I gave up couldn't find the book. So I went to the till to ask a very nice young Geordie girl. She checked on the system to see if it was in stock. And do you know what???? Waterstone's in Scotland are not stocking Mr Parkerman's book. What is all that about. They had to order me a copy personally I will get it next week. Why your book not selling north of the border Lord Parkerman. Anyway to console myself I bought a copy of Game of Thrones while I was there.
Hmmm...just caught up with this one! Not stocked in Scotland!!?? I'll have to see about this. Thank you for ordering a copy anyway. I hope you like it.

Welcome back Norman. Usual nonsense on the soap front. Doom and Gloom on deadenders with an upcoming explosive storyline involving a roof collapse which is set to rock the square.

I haven't got it yet. The girl in Waterstone's said it would take a couple of days to order it and took my mobile number. She said she would phone me when it arrived but haven't heard anything so I'll have to go back in tomorrow to see what's happened to the pidgeon post.
