EastEnders series consultant Simon Ashdown has revealed that he wants the soap to broadcast another live episode.

The BBC drama went live earlier this year to celebrate its 25th anniversary. The dramatic episode, written by Ashdown, saw Stacey Branning reveal that she was Archie Mitchell's killer - moments after the death of her husband Bradley.

Speaking to Walford Web, the writer admitted that he knows what he wants to happen in the episode, should it get the go-ahead from executive producer Bryan Kirkwood.

"I have an idea for one," he said. "But it’s very, very different in style. All I’ve got to do is persuade Bryan [Kirkwood].

Discussing the challenges surrounding a live episode, Ashdown commented: "Firstly it had to be a good episode in it’s own right: good structure, good story, some truthful emotion and high impact moments."

Ashdown has penned Stacey's upcoming Christmas Day exit from Albert Square.

EastEnders actress Laurie Brett is expecting her first child, it has been revealed.

The star, best known for her role as broody Jane Beale in the BBC soap, is due to give birth in early summer.

Brett's pregnancy will be hidden on screen as Jane is unable to have children following a hysterectomy.

A source told the News of the World: "Laurie's over the moon. Many of her plotlines centre on Jane's desire for kids. But after she was shot in the stomach by hubby Ian's stepson Steven that won't happen naturally."

The insider added: "It's going to be tricky for producers to hide Laurie's bump. We'll no doubt see her hiding behind carefully placed piles of cakes and sandwiches in the café for the next few months!"

Brett is thought to have been in a relationship with her current partner since 2009.

FORMER EastEnder Louisa Lytton has been charged with drink-driving following a night out.
The actress, 21, who also appeared in The Bill, was stopped in the early hours in London's Belgravia.

She was taken to a Central London police station and later charged with driving with excess alcohol.

Louisa, Albert Square's Ruby Allen, was freed and will face JPs on February 11. Hours earlier she was photographed in the West End, wearing a navy blue dress.

Sources said the star, charged under her real name Louise, had recently split up with a boyfriend.

A spokesman for Louisa declined to comment last night.

EastEnders actor Neil McDermott has described becoming a father as "unbelievable".

The actor and his wife Michelle Edwards welcomed their first daughter Arrabella last month. Speaking to Hello magazine, McDermott - Ryan Malloy in the BBC soap - praised his "heroic" wife after she went through 36 hours of contractions.

"Patsy Palmer told me, 'Get ready to feel a love like you have never felt before'," he said. "And she is absolutely right. It's unbelievable.

"We had a text message from Bertie [Patsy's baby boy] asking Arrabella out on a date. I said, 'No, not until she is 21'," he joked.

McDermott previously admitted that he did not watch the Albert Square drama on New Year's Eve when Ronnie Mitchell swapped her dead son for Kat and Alfie's newborn child.

"When your baby is about to be born you don't choose to watch something like that," he said. "I've watched it since and the aftermath of it. The acting has been very strong and the storyline very good.

"When it is so much more relevant to you then it does become more heartbreaking," he added.

Patsy Palmer has revealed that her EastEnders character Bianca Butcher has proved popular with the royal family and Madonna.

The 38-year-old actress explained that her infamous catchphrase of shouting "Rickaaaay" at her husband has got her some unlikely fans.

According to the Daily Star, Palmer revealed to Piers Morgan: "Madonna was shooting a commercial in a red wig and did an impression of me between takes, going 'Rickaaaay!'"

The soap star also claimed to have royal fans in the form of Prince William and Princess Diana. That would be the LATE Princess Diana. Im sure they dont have TVs where she is now.

She said: "Tara Palmer-Tomkinson and I were at Party In The Park and she was on the phone to him. I was like 'Oh my God, Prince William.' Tara told him she was with me and he said, 'Tell her I've got a naked picture of her on my wall.'"

Palmer added: "Princess Di and I had the same hairdresser and he asked me for my autograph for her. Apparently she insisted on watching EastEnders while she had her hair done."
I cannot believe that a 38 yr old would speak like some lovesick tweeny
