Of course Simon is doing what he can to get his and Cheryl's acts in the finale. He did that by changing the format with changing the big band week because he knew that Cher and Katie couldn't carry it off. In previous years if an act was in the bottom two more than twice they were booted but not Katie they have done everything they can to keep her in the competition and that is why the public is revolting and voting for Wagner. The public know that Wagner's singing is mince but it's getting up Simon and Cheryl's nose that he is surving every week just srurs them on. The next big fix by Mr Cowell will be the winner's song. Normally we know what the song is going to be but they have been very secretive about it. Are they going to do another stitch up like they did last year by releasing a pop song to suit Cher's or Katie's voice better than Matt. Mr Cowell and Ms Cole can come up with as many dirty tactics as they want to save Cher and Katie but they're no match for the public. WAGBO will survive this weekend. Cher, Katie and One Direction for the sing off on Sunday.

This weekend's X Factor will feature all the acts singing rock tracks.

Saturday's extended programme will include two performances from each of the seven remaining contestants. It has already been confirmed that Wagner Carrilho will be singing Radiohead's 'Creep', while Mary Byrne is lined up to sing U2's 'All I Want Is You'.

Speaking on Matt Edmondson's F Factor blog, the contestants said that they were excited about the upcoming live show and admitted that they were pleased with the theme.

"I actually like a bit of rock," said Cher Lloyd. "I like upbeat because I like to dance. I'm not a candle. I like to rock out." Meanwhile, Rebecca Ferguson hinted that she would be doing her first "upbeat" song of the series.

The Rock Week theme was first used last year and featured eventual winner Joe McElderry performing Journey's 'Don't Stop Believing' for the first time. Other highlights included Lucie Jones tackling Guns N' Roses, Jamie Archer covering Primal Scream's 'Rocks' and Jedward singing 'We Will Rock You'.

The X Factor starts on Saturday at 7.45pm.

Irish 'X Factor' star Mary Byrne has reportedly lost her voice after being hit with throat problems again this week.

According to the Daily Star, a source said: "She could not even finish rehearsing her song yesterday."

"She is off to the doctor today to try and get it all sorted."

The singer stayed at home last night while all the other contestants attended a fashion show together.

She also suffered from throat problems at the beginning of the live shows.

MATT Cardle has made a dramatic U-turn by apologising to Wagner Carrilho for calling him a "joke" while the barmy Brazilian says his haters are "with the devil".

The Essex lad, 27, admitted he should have kept quiet about Wagner when X Factor fans slated him for blasting the former PE teacher on stage after he survived another week.

After Paije Richardson got the boot on Sunday, Matt told Xtra Factor host Konnie Huq: "It's a bit of a joke. There are twists and turns in this competition and it's not always funny."

He refused to expand on what he meant but looked directly at Wagner who he previously said needed to leave the competition while he said it.

But after being branded rude by Xtra Factor viewers, he seems to have had a change of heart.

Matt admitted: "I've been a little bit outspoken about certain issues and certain people in this competition and I think it's time to shut the hell up.

"It's no one's fault, you know, and I understand that. I'm not being a bitch, I'm not moaning but it's hard when my guys are going.

"I lost Aiden and then at the weekend I lost Paije so I got a little bit angry and said things perhaps I shouldn't have said and maybe that I didn't necessarily mean as well.

"If I offended anyone then I'm genuinely sorry but you get caught up in it."

Meanwhile Wagner who has been booed numerous times on the show after being named as one of the people going through to the next round blasted his haters as "being with the devil".

The 54-year-old said: "If someone doesn't like someone it only damages them.

X Factor's Cher Lloyd reportedly knew she would be in Sunday's 'sing off' hours before it was announced on the live show, because of a tip-off on Twitter.

Cher Lloyd's father said yesterday that she and her entire family knew she would be in the bottom two because of the Twitter tip-off.

Darren Lloyd from Malvern, Worcestershire, explained: "We were tipped off in the morning. It was leaked on Twitter. We were hoping it was lies but unfortunately it was not. I called Cher and told her. She was upset but was determined not to let it affect her performance."

This is the second time a contestant has claimed that the micro-blogging site has revealed results prior to the live show, as just 2 weeks ago Aiden Grimshaw stated on live TV that he knew his time was up because of a leak.

Such reports are fuelling concerns that the show could be compromised by well placed sources on it or connected to it.

An X Factor spokesman denied there was any chance the show could be compromised, saying: "People make lots of unfounded predictions on the internet about the order of the contestants based on various popularity polls. There is not a leak."

It's not really a leak because no one could knew how Cher would peform on Saturday night. The possiblilty of rumours appearing on twitter is that she is not as popular as she or judges think she is and no matter how good her singing was she was not going to get the votes. If her parents knew of this maybe they should have kept quiet as it may have effected her performance. Wonder if twitter is predicting who will be in the bottom this week.

With this week's X Factor theme confirmed as Rock Week, the song choices for Mary, Wagner, Cher and Matt have been revealed.

Rock Week sees each of the remaining seven contestants singing two songs, one up-tempo and one down-tempo, as they fight for their place in the competition.

So far, according to reports Wagner will be singing Radiohead's Creep as one of his song choices, Cher will be hoping to impress with Aerosmith's Walk This Way as one of her choices and Matt will be singing the Guns N'Roses classic Welcome To The Jungle.

Speaking on Matt Edmondson's F Factor, Matt said: "Rock week is harder than it sounds", while Rebecca said: "Getting to do more of an unbeat one. It's good to mix it up a bit".

While One Direction said: "Both the songs are completely different. Every performance from now on has to be wicked"; while Katie Waissel said: "There's so much more to rock than people think. I just really want to get it right".

Mary Byrne's songs have been revealed as All I Want Is You by U2 and The Pretenders' Brass In Pocket, however, the Scottish singer is said to be suffering from a throat bug.

The Sun reported that she saw a doctor on Thursday after being unable to rehearse because of the strain on her vocal cords. A source said: "Mary isn't well and needs proper rest."
