EastEnders actor Thomas Law has revealed that he would like to try his hand in the music industry.

Law, who plays Peter Beale in the BBC soap, joked that he could be the UK's version of Justin Bieber.

"If I wasn't an actor I'd be the British Justin Bieber, probably!" he told Bang Showbiz. "I'd love to do a bit of singing. My uncle owns a studio, so I've been in there, having fun and mucking about with music."

He added: "It's always been something I've wanted to do, but I love acting in EastEnders."

In June, Bieber revealed that he had been mistaken for Law while in the UK.

Former EastEnders star Rob Kazinsky has reportedly signed to appear in ABC drama Brothers & Sisters.

The actor, who was recently named as part of the cast for Peter Jackson's The Hobbit, is to star in one episode of the drama, E! Online reports.

Kazinsky will play Dr Rick, the ex-boyfriend of Annie, who is played by Odette Yustman.

The return of Dr Rick in Annie's life will cause trouble for the youngest Walker, Justin (Dave Annable), who has formed a fledgling relationship with Annie in the wake of his divorce.

Yustman, who recently married co-star Dave Annable in real life, is tipped to become a series regular after an initial short run.

At 83, she's giving Brucie a run for his money.

June Brown, the EastEnders legend behind Dot Branning, is stepping up to star in a Christmas special of Strictly Come Dancing, and she's the oldest contestant ever to take to the floor.

She'll be twirled around by professional dancer Vincent Simone.

Five celebs have signed up so far - Fern Britton, Ronnie Ancona, John Barrowman and Vince Cable.

BBC head of entertainment and events Katie Taylor said: "Building on the success of the current series of Strictly - that has taken us literally to new heights - I am very excited that, this year, five fresh celebrities are prepared to don their dancing shoes, show us the cut of their cha-cha-chas and delight BBC1 viewers for Christmas."

Go on June. Strut that stuff!

EastEnders has scooped a prize at the Mind Mental Health Media Awards for a second consecutive year.

In a ceremony held at the British Film Institute in London last night, the ongoing story of Stacey Slater's bipolar disorder came out on top in the 'Soaps' category, being recognised as an accurate and powerful portrayal of mental distress.

A statement released by Mind confirmed that the event's judges were impressed with the "outstanding way in which EastEnders developed Stacey's experience of bipolar disorder without letting it define her character".

The performances of Lacey Turner - who plays Stacey - and her screen mother Gillian Wright (Jean) were also highly commended by the panel.

Speaking of the show's victory, Turner commented: "I am thrilled that EastEnders has won this award. Playing the bipolar storyline was one of the biggest achievements that I have had at EastEnders and I was honoured that I was entrusted with the task of portraying an issue that so many people are affected by.

"From the letters and feedback I have received, I am glad that EastEnders was brave enough to raise awareness of such a sensitive issue."

Meanwhile, Mind's chief executive Paul Farmer said: "EastEnders is a fantastic programme that never fails to grip the nation and the storyline involving Stacey Slater developing bipolar disorder is an excellent example of how broadcasters can cover mental health issues in a responsible, forward-thinking way to produce hugely watchable TV."

Emmerdale had also been nominated in the 'Soaps' category in recognition of the storyline which saw Aaron Livesy (Danny Miller) attempt to take his own life as he struggled to come to terms with his sexuality.

Stacey's plotline previously received the Mind 'Making A Difference' trophy at last year's event.

If you're still running low on ideas for Christmas presents, this blog post could help - especially if you have a big soap fan in your family or circle of friends!

Among the products being promoted by BBC Worldwide this festive season is a collection of EastEnders T-shirts featuring some big prints of legendary characters from the Walford show.

Dot Branning, Arthur Fowler and Frank Butcher are among the favourites featured in the range, as shown in the pictures below:

Other characters included in the collection are the Mitchell brothers and Dirty Den.

The range is available to buy exclusively at Topshop (RRP £22).

    More ravings from Kym Marsh

It sounds as if Kym Marsh and her family are closet EastEnders fans.

When the Corrie star travelled to Albert Square to take part in last Friday's Children In Need sketch, her mum got roped in as an extra too.

Kym told New! magazine: "It was fun filming East Street, the Corrie and EastEnders crossover for last Friday's Children In Need. I went down to the EastEnders studios with Beverley Callard (Liz McDonald), Ryan Thomas (Jason Grimshaw), Jimmi Harkishin (Dev Patel) and Helen Worth (Gail McIntyre) and the cast were very welcoming.

"Did anybody spot my mum serving behind the counter in Minute Mart? They roped her in as an extra!"

In the sketch, Kym's character Michelle Connor headed into the Queen Vic and caught the eye of old friend Alfie Moon (Shane Richie), which didn't go down two well with his wife Kat (Jessie Wallace).

Kym said: "I did a scene with Jessie Wallace and Shane Richie, who play Kat and Alfie Moon, where Kat thought my character Michelle was after her man. I wouldn't like to put money on which of them would win in a fight!"

Why don't they just give her her own reality show on one of the cable channels that know one watches. That way we can get rid of her.

Thanks to Vicky for my great new banner xxx
