I can understand your point of view but Susan was trying to help Libby and Dan with the baby after they lost their own. The tension in both families connected to the surrogacy because of all the publicity it attracted and Dan's reaction to most things after that brought out the mother instinct in Susan, and her pregnancy would have made her quite hormonal too. I feel sorry for all of them.

I went off dan completely, not just because of the way he was during the surrogacy, when he put his first wife sam (who tricked him into believing her baby was his, to try and trap him) before his actual wife libby

I have to say throughout this whole surrogacy storyline, I have totally gone off the Kennedy's. They are annoying me more than ever and particularly in the miscarriage, i felt more for Dan than I did for Susan, Libby or Karl. Poor Dan, Susan was trying to control everything....i can't stand her, or Karl anymore and it's sad to see Libby and Dan's relationship go off the rails. Libby's got Ben at least. This last miscarriage was the 3rd time Dan's lost a baby through miscarriage, poor guy...i felt and still feel more for him than i do any of the Kennedy's! But i do like Zeke!

I don't know why Libby was so bothered about another baby. Like you say, she has Ben. Some women feel really lucky to have one child. She seemed okay until Sam came back pregnant, and the baby wasn't Dan's anyway.

But so many couples want to have their own baby when one of them or even both of them already have children from previous relationships, especially women, that is the impression I have from what is going on in my own circle of friends and acquaintances. Usually when they can ill afford their own life style, let alone another baby. I wonder whether it is to bind the man closer to them because they are jealous of their man's previous relationship but I might be wrong

Once the actor who plays Dan announced he was leaving the writers completely ruined the character i would prefer if he had died

Yeah I agree with you lizann. I would rather he had died. He is not the same Dan anymore.
On a separate note, how cute are Declan and Kate .

I agree with lmunnster3 about Dan - I've felt for him more throughout this storyline too. Much as I like the Kennedy's, who would want them for in-laws? I think their interfering is the problem in Dan and Libby's marriage, not the surrogacy. Dan's character has been changed so that he is nastier than he used to be, but I don't really blame him given what's been going on.

Yes, some women do seem to want to have a baby with a new partner, it's true. You would think that their love would be enough, especially when it puts someone's health at risk wouldn't you? Must admit, Libby's wining about it got on my nerves! I was with Karl on this one.
