AMERICAN gangsta rapper Snoop Dogg wants to appear in CORONATION STREET.

The badboy - who has drug and firearms convictions - is desperate to be filmed at the Rovers Return.

Snoop, 38, said: "When I'm in Britain I love to eat Indian food and chill in my hotel room and watch Coronation Street.

"I've done guest roles in shows in the US. If Coronation Street want me to make a cameo then, cool, let's do it.

"Maybe I could just play myself doing a concert in Manchester and I could come into the pub for lunch."

The rapper, whose hits include Doggystyle, said people are "surprised" he is a fan of the soap and characters such as Lloyd Mullaney, played by Craig Charles.

But he added: "I've been to Manchester lots of times. I think Coronation Street is to Manchester what the Statue Of Liberty is to New York."

Snoop - real name Cordozar Calvin Broadus - is battling to be let back into Britain after being denied entry following a fracas at Heathrow in 2006.

The star - who has even asked Sir Paul McCartney for help - is waiting for the result of a hearing this week.

If he wins, Snoop will NOT be rushing over to watch EastEnders as well.

He said: "I'm not interested in that, Coronation Street is what it's all about."

Snoop Dogg is a huge fan of Coronation Street and has made no secret of his desire to make a cameo on its cobbles.

But the hip hop star has revealed while he is still waiting for his appearance in Weatherfield to be finalised, he would not settle for an invite to Albert Square.

Snoop told Q magazine of his Corrie cameo: "I've still got to see if they're going to have me, man.

"I'd love to be on there. What are you all waiting on? It's Snoop Dogg; I'm here again!

"Would I settle for a part on EastEnders instead? Naaaah, I don't know about that."

The 39-year-old rapper last year revealed he loves all things Corrie so much, he planned to open his own Rovers Return bar in Los Angeles.

He said: "People are mad for themed pubs over here, so I am doing this properly.

"Nothing will stop me serving Betty's hotpot in my pub, man. If it didn't serve hotpot it wouldn't be a proper Rovers Return."

The tabloids pick the interview up, the story does the rounds on t'internet and this fan's heart drops to the floor once again.

It isn't the first time Snoop Dogg has been mentioned wanting a role in Coronation Street.

And now he tells The Daily Star he's heard Cheryl Cole talking about wanting to join Corrie and says he wants to appear on Corrie with Cheryl as his wife.

The rapper is an ex-pimp, and he also has a string of criminal convictions and has been tried for murder, tells today's Star: “People always think I’m playing when I talk about Coronation Street, but I swear it’s my favourite show on TV. They got everything – sex, murder, transsexuals. There ain’t no other show that can touch it. If the producers write a cool storyline for me and Cheryl I guarantee I will clear my schedule and come do a two-week shoot. The writers are sick on Corrie. I want to see me and Cheryl arrive on the Street as a couple from overseas. Within the first week I would expect Ken Barlow to have seduced Cheryl because you know that dog don’t let his age stop his skills with the women. Then a broken-hearted Snoop falls into the arms of a broken-hearted Deirdre.”

Seems to me that with his background and convictions he would feel right at home over on Deadenders
