I'll probably still be at uni when Fred arrives so getting an early photo probably won't be easy and my mum is useless with technology. Hopefully I'll be around for baby sitting duties although it's been a while since I looked after a newborn.

I like the idea of photo frames. Not sure about baby books; Maisie has one but it's never been filled in past a few months old.

A special teddy or comforter is on my list now.

Thanks for your ideas, I'll have a look around.
    Thanks CrazyLea

I was out shopping last week in one of the shopping centres and I saw a stall were staff were selling baby dressing gowns with the hoods and their names and dates of birth. You could also buy some christening sets were you can keep a lock of hair and baby's first tooth. Another idea would be to start a bank account for the baby. A bit boring yes but practical.

Thanks to Vicky for my great new banner xxx

When I get a job I do intend to start a bank account for each of them.

This is a long-term idea which I like. A friend of mine bought the local newspaper the day her boy was born and bought a paper on every birthday. On his 21st she presented all the papers in a folder, so he was able to read up on how life in the city has changed over the years and what the main news were on all his birthdays until he was 21.

    Hi everyone,

Where can I get swaddle blankets from? I've looked at mothercare and I refuse to pay 15 quid for one blanket. Are there cheaper places?

I also can't decide which teddy to get. Giraffe (holds significance with my other niece), monkey or bunny
    Thanks CrazyLea

They are all sooo cute. If your other niece has a giraffe, get the bunny
