Wisdom Tooth

I had my wisdom tooth removed in hospital about six years ago. It cost nothing. There was nothing wrong with it but, like Siobhan's, it was growing at an acute angle and I kept getting food trapped between it and the next tooth. It was causing no pain at all though. If I could get mine done at hospital, I don't see why you shouldn't be able to, Siobhan, especially if it is causing you pain on occasions.

I must check into that cause I was told by a dentist (when I had emergency to remove one of the teeth in front of the wisdom tooth) that I had to have my gums slit and jaw dislocated to get at them to remove them.. that is why I just put up with the pain

Oh dear. That does sound a bit more radical!

I can appreciate that your gum will have to be split, I had that done about 15years ago for some root canal treatment, with about 9 stitches (sounds worse than it was ) but dislocating your jaw sounds extreme

That why I am going to check it out again.. I don't think I would like my jaw dislocated... my family suffer from deep rooted teeth and dry sockets.. it might explain why it would be more difficult for me..
