My elder son wants a macbook pro, but my younger son has just sold his mac mini on ebay and built a new computer with components he bought off the internet.

Don't ask me how he did it but for £400 he has a computer that is both a pc and thinks it is a macbook pro. He has two hard drives one runs apple stuff and the other vista.

Hubby has stuck with the imac.

I think that I might go for the iphone, but tbh, I never use my ipod - too much hastle taking out my hearing aids and then putting them back in if anyone wants to speak with me so that functionality is kind of wasted on me.
Your son has made a Hackintosh I have one as well, just for the sake of it.

Ironically, I hardly use my iPhone for music or calls. A bit texting, net surfing and the odd game now and then

I am a gadget phreak and doubtless when my contract comes up for renewal I will go for the latest all singing all dancing whatever.

As an aside. Since I have owned the iphone its made me keen to get a Mac Airbook. Just a slight pity the Bank balance is more geared to a Sinclair ZX 80
Are you the person that developed Grinder? Couldn't believe what I was hearing on TopGear!

Hackintosh - that is what he calls it too! I was really concerned that he was selling a computer that works, and using all his birthday money to do this - but it only took him a day (after all the components arrived)and it seems to work fine.

What 15 year old boys get up to these days.

LOL I think you know me better than that. I nearly choked when I saw that. Its like a Gaydar for the iphone. Now if there was one to show up available females in the area I might be interested.

Well, hubby bought me an iphone this afternoon!

Synched it with the imac and my calendars, music, photos address book, home email account - everything is all on the phone in less than 5 minutes!

    Fabulous!

Also, it I touch a contacts address a map pops up showing the address - and directions from where I am - how cool is that!
