Yeah was my first time . But yeah wasn't overly bothered. Not many people pass first time. And it gave me an idea of what to focus on now. Just I can't afford lessons/another test for a while. What with my pittyful wage lol.

My eldest son has just started lessons. I cannot believe how much my car insurance will go up if I add him!

I have worked out that it is cheaper for him to have 3 hour lessons with an instructor per week than it is for me to add him to my insurance!

My parents' insurance went up from somewhere around £100 to £400 odd when they added me (my dad has the maximum no claims bonus.) I don't really like the car so don't think I will bother going back on it next year as I paid most of the difference.

My insurance is £26 per month, and it goes up to £201 PER MONTH by adding one 17 year old boy!

This is for a 1 litre fiesta!

(I didn't even ask how much it would be for hubby's car)

the reason i never started lessons at 17 was cos i couldnt afford my own car and my mum said there was no way i was going on their insurance as it would be way too expensive. hopefully im gonna start learning this summer though

My parents' insurance is on a yearly basis. And it's for a 1.4 litre (I think) Nissan Micra. I heard that insurance for 17 year old boys is around double what it is for 17 year old girls but that sounds overly ridiculous!

Top Gear did a feature on car insurance for 17 yo males and one company wanted 8k a year I understand why premiums are so high for teenage males but 200 quid a month? That's daylight robbery.
