Phil Spector will spend at least 19 years in prison for the murder of actress Lana Clarkson, a judge has said.

Last month, the 69-year-old was found guilty of shooting Clarkson at his California home.

He was given a sentence today of 15 years to life with an additional four years for use of a gun, the BBC reports.

The presiding judge at the LA court also set the condition that the music producer must serve at least 19 years of his jail time before he can be eligible for parole, by which time he will be 88-years-old.

Spector plead not guilty in his five-month long retrial. A jury failed to reach a unanimous decision on the case during the original trial in 2007.

His lawyers have said that they will attempt to appeal the decision.

Kiefer Sutherland has admitted that his relationship with Julia Roberts fizzled out because they lacked passion.
The couple became engaged after co-starring in 1990's Flatliners, although Roberts later called off the marriage a few days before the wedding and began dating actor Jason Patric.
Speaking to Elle, he said: "At the time, I wanted to raise horses on a farm in Montana, and she was the number one actress on the planet. That didn't create a specific rift but there was a gulf in what we actually wanted.
"There was a huge connection between us but... it was more like friends than the passionate relationship that she or I would have wanted."
The 24 star, who has been married twice, added that he is unsure whether he wants to tie the knot again. "I've seen some of the greatest couples I know torn apart by marriage," he said.
"People quit each other. They take everything for granted. I was married for nine years and wasn't successful at it. I'm still best friends with my ex-wife but I try not to repeat the same mistakes twice."

Tess Daly and Vernon Kay were last night celebrating the birth of their second daughter.

Strictly Come Dancing host Tess, 38, had 7lb 15oz Amber Isabella at 5.26pm yesterday at a London hospital. Vernon, 35, said: “She is absolutely beautiful and I’m thrilled.” Last week the host of ITV hit Beat The Star revealed he was nervous about the birth.

The couple’s first child Phoebe Elizabeth, now four, was born by caesarean but the pair hoped to have a natural birth this time. Vern revealed: “I’m not squeamish but no one likes to see their partner going through pain.”

Tess now plans to be back for the next series of Strictly Come Dancing in September.

But she’s always said she’ll never rush getting back into shape. A source close to the pair said: “Tess loves motherhood more than anything and as a couple family life for them always comes first before work.

“But now the baby’s born she can enjoy the first few months of her life then step up to host the show with Bruce.”
