Can't see it being Jack he is too tied up with Roxy and Ronnie to get involved in another pregnancy battle. Could be Archie as he's coming back. But my gut instincts tell me to stick with Phil as the bosses of EE like to bring misery on to our favourite characters Heather and Shirley are best mates and what better to pull apart a friendship than to have your best mate sleep with your bloke.

EastEnders star Scott Maslen has suggested that his character Jack Branning could be the father of Heather Trott's (Cheryl Fergison) baby.

Speaking to DS on the red carpet at the British Soap Awards, Maslen said of the prospect: "Yeah, I reckon [Jack's the daddy]. I think I'm sleep walking!"

Rita Simons - who plays Roxy Mitchell - joked: "I think it was Albert...Oh no, I had his willy cut off..."

Meanwhile, speaking about Danniella Westbrook's return as Sam Mitchell, Simons said: "[It'll be] brilliant, bring it on! It'll be amazing because hopefully it'll be another person to add to the dynamic that me and Sam have already got."

Responding to a comment made by the show's boss Diederick Santer in a recent interview with DS, Simons added: "He called us a pair of pretenders! You've just reminded me, because I have a bone to pick with him. When I see him he's going to get a piece of my mind! Pair of pretenders?! Yeah..."

CRAFTY bosses trying to hide the identity of mum-to-be Heather Trott’s lover are censoring the explosive scripts.

The chubby launderette worker is pregnant but is keeping everyone guessing about who the father of her child is.

Determined to keep the secret under wraps until the very last minute, only the show’s top brass know which character is the dad.

And to make sure there are no leaks, the father is referred to as “George Michael” in the scripts.

Fans will know Heather (Cheryl Fergison, 45) is a huge fan of the singer with one storyline seeing her break into his garden.

Even actress Cheryl says she does not know who the father is.

She laughed: “I kept going up to our producer’s office to ask him.

“He wouldn’t tell me and in the end I realised it was probably best not knowing.”

They really keep us guessing on this one
