Becky in Drugs bust

CORRIE barmaid Becky Granger faces years in the slammer when cops nab her with a stash of Class A drugs.
The troublemaker is nicked when the Rovers is raided in a narcotics bust.

Regulars’ jaws drop as Becky, played by Katherine Kelly, 29, is hauled off protesting that she has been set up.

But with her criminal past, even close pals doubt her — including lover Steve McDonald (Simon Gregson).

A show insider said: “This will be devastating for Becky.

“Her future will be in balance after her arrest and her relationship with Steve will be teetering on the brink.”

The source added: “It’ll be touch and go whether she goes down or not.”

But while her pals fear the worst, viewers will know that trashy Becky is INNOCENT.

The drugs will be planted on her by loser ex-boyfriend Slug — who is blackmailed into doing the dirty by bent copper DC Hooch.

The detective has held a grudge against Becky since she reported him for demanding a sex act from her when she was 15.

As soon as the drugs are in place, Hooch leads a police raid on the Rovers and finds the bar girl in possession.

He sneers at her: “Got you. Say goodbye to your new life Becky because this time you’re going down and I’ll make sure they throw away the key.”

Loyal Roy Cropper is convinced from the start that his former cafe employee has been framed and sets about trying to prove the truth.

But it turns out DC Hooch is not the only one in on the sinister plot.

The shock storyline is set to air on ITV1 this summer.

The source said: “There’s someone else involved too.

“Becky’s made many enemies during her time on the Street and it could be anyone of a number of people.”

More Becky overload they really need to stop foscusing on her and Steve so much, there is other characters in the show.
