Gemma Atkinson is in talks to make a return to Chester as the soap takes on ITV rival Emmerdale.
The 24yr old, who played Lisa Hunter for 5 years, is being lined up as part of a massive shake up at Hollyoaks which would see it in a later time slot.
New producer Lucy Allan is keen to make her mark after taking over from Bryan Kirkwood earlier this month and wants to spice up the show.
According to a source at Lime Pictures, who produce the show, Allan wants Hollyoaks to go head-to-head with Emmerdale by being broadcast a 7pm.
The Source also revealed that other popular ex stars could be lured back to bump up ratings.
Marcus Patrick (Ben Davies), James Redmond (Rory Finningan), Kevin Sacre (Jake Dean) and Elize Du Toit (Izzy Davies) are all said to be on Allan's hit list.
The source said "There's a real buzz on set. Over the last few years the show has become more controversial, so it makes sense for it to go out a little later. Everyone is really excited about the future. Gemma was one of the most popular characters, so to get her back would be a real truimph!"
