Grey’s Anatomy star Aasha Davis has launched an appeal to uncover information about her missing sister.

Davis, 35, has enlisted the help of the police and is now turning to the public to find evidence relating to the whereabouts of Leslie Herring, WENN reports.

Herring, 45, a resident of Los Angeles, was last seen on February 8 and failed to show up for work that day. Davis reported her missing two days later.

The actress, who also stars on Friday Night Lights, held a press conference on Tuesday and also gave an interview with CBS’s The Early Show.

"I think something terrible might have happened to her," she told the programme. "Just because I know that my sister would be in contact with us. She would want us to know where she was. She would know that we would worry about her so much.

"But my hope is that she's okay and that she just needs to know that we want her home soon and that we miss her and love her and that she's safe to come home."
