Jerry Lewis is to receive a special humanitarian award at next year's Academy Awards.
The comedian will be honoured with the the Jean Hersholt Humanitarian Award at the ceremony on February 22.
The 82-year-old Nutty Professor star has raised over £1.3 billion for the Muscular Dystophy Association through his annual Labour Day telethon.
Academy President Sid Ganis said: "Jerry is a legendary comedian, who has not only brought laughter to millions around the world but has also helped thousands upon thousands by raising funds and awareness for those suffering from muscular dystrophy."
Other stars to have received the honour include Paul Newman, Bob Hope and Audrey Hepburn.
