I am reading Oranges Aren't The Only Fruit by Jeanette Winterson. Really good book so far - got to the bit where Jeanette has met the girl she starts to fall in love with.
Ive just finished reading Breaking dawn!![]()
Finished reading Oranges last night .. a really brilliant book but rather disturbing at parts and it's weirdly quite sad at the end..
I have started reading A Mermaid's Singing by Val McDermid today - read 50 pages so far and loving it! She writes the Wire in The Blood series!

A Mermaid's Singing was a really great book! It really took an unexpected turn towards the end and I recommend the book to anyone who likes reading the crime genre.
I am planning to get the next book in the series, but currently engrossed in The Grapes of Wrath by John Steinbeck, which is proving as good as 'Of Mice And Men' already.
I'm currently reading My Story by Daze Pelzer, it's a trilogy of his books. It's the most disturbing/moving book you're ever likely to read. An uncomfortable read, but everyone should read it before they die.
I think I read those as 3 separate books a few years ago. The first one was truely heart rending. I am sorry but the following two seemed to be money making exercises driven by his second wife.
I agree with you there Trinity, the second and third just aren't the same. He had such a horrific story, and I dont feel like the other two really shed much more light on the situation, they are just him milking it for all it's worth. Saying that though in the third book there's some moving scenes between his mother/father/grandmother, as he gets answers to make his life complete.
I've got a big job ahead of me, I've got to adapt this into a movie for my current assignment, not sure how I'm going to go about it yet. It will certainly be challenging and hopefully I'll get a good grade for it, as part of the portfolio is raising debates for and against an adaptation.
