See now, we have a boy in our year (whos in my form) who actually does that to people... but means it! He has problems we think but it's never really been sort of.. mentioned. But he acts ike a teacher and carries aclipboard around with him all day, telling all our year and the younger year to stop messing about get to lessons take jackets and that off... no joke seriously!

Aww today's been ok. I spoke to my English Lit/Lang teacher and explained that I was really struggling and thinking of dropping it. She was really understanding though and we both agreed I'd do the essay thats set and if I struggled alot with that then it's best I dropped it. So I feel alot better for that.

i wouldnt worry too much about that tbh. some people might have 3 alevels and 1 AS but the majority of people wont have 4 or more alevels, some people dont even do 3 alevels. as long as you get the points you need from the alevels you do for the course that you want it doesnt matter how many alevels you took, it wont be a disadvantage just cos you only did 3, actually most unis prefer it if you dont do too many alevels. if youre struggling, its much better to drop a subject and concentrate on getting 3 good alevels than to carry on with 4 and not do very well

i agree, its easier to change subjects now as you wont have missed too much work than to wait til after xmas for example when you will have wasted time on the one youve dropped and missed half the course of another one you might want to pick up. also if you do want to drop a subject, as its so early on in the year and youre only doing ASs atm its best to try another one instead just in case you like it as you wont be that far behind and then if you dont like it then you can drop it

That's taking it too far. This boy would never say that to people in the same year as him, it was just the novelty of us not being in uniform while the others are, I think. Me and my friend were about to go to tutor early when we noticed that this boy was too busy playing table football in the common room.

There's nothing else in the blocks that I would have to choose from that I want to do. There's not much point picking up something I only like the sound of 1 out of the 4 units of. I think I'll stay where I am until we really start on the poetry as that was always my best part of it. The teacher said she'd be shocked if we liked all of the stuff we did in it. I don't know if I'm struggling as such as it's only a few comments in margins but it might just seem like it to me because I'm used to getting 'excellent' and everything in the rest of my subjects. One boy's had to redo the whole of his essay. As there's nothing else I want to pick up from the blocks then I might as well keep up with it then if I still feel the same after we've done some more work then drop it and do the three or the three and an AS in something I can't get now next year. I spoke to my mum about it and she thinks it's a bit quick to be deciding as we haven't done much with one of the teachers at all.
