my sis said she read somewhere that you shouldnt eat carbs after 6pm or anything after 8pm. im quite good at that when im at home but when im at uni at least 3days a week i dont get in til half 7 so unless i have a salad when i get in then i cant stick to that. also, bread contains carbs so having a sandwich at dinner wouldnt help

its something to do with your metabolism stopping when you sleep, so if you eat too late in the day just before you go to bed your food wont have time to digest so the calories wont be burnt up
i tend to have my meals early anyways so that shouldnt be a problem to eat before 6pm! then i tend to snack on fruit, but your saying i cant eat that after 8pm? my downfall is snacking after my evening meal. i just need to dicpline myself. i dont have any snacks food in the house to prevent myself from doing so, so i just snack on fruit. But then sometimes I'll go and bake a loaf of bread and eat it all in oen night with a tub of butter (I really need to stop that!)

Yeah I heard that if you eat late at night the body doesnt digest it, as you say your body shuts down when you go to bed. one of my mates at uni doesnt eat anything until 9pm at night and then shes having chips, kebabs, burgers, and she wonders why she's so fat, there's no way the body was digest all that crap before she goes to bed.

erm im not sure if snacks are ok, it might depend on how long before you go to bed you eat them, ie dont eat straight before you go to bed. i know though that you shouldnt eat "heavy" fruits such as apples before going to bed cos they dont digest and something about it not being good for you, i cant remember exactly lol which isnt useful! but i think a small amount of soft fruit might be ok, although id say you should make sure you eat it about 2hrs before you go to bed, so at least it has started to digest slightly before you go to bed. i just try and dont eat after 8pm, but it is difficult!

Well it has got cabbage in it but also swede, carrots, beans, corn. Possibly potato.. You can also add chicken.
Oh, can I have the recipe please, sounds different to the cabbage soup I was on.
I asked my mum and she said well there's no recipe (the only thing I can make without a recipe is cake!)...you just make a basic soup and add whatever vegetables and a bit of chicken She's making some more on Sunday so I'll copy it down then because I don't know how to make soup so it'll be handy for me too
Peter: So how many are there? Is it bad? Olivia: Did you eat? Peter: Yeah. Olivia: Well, that's unfortunate.

If I'm hungry in the evening I'll normally eat those muller fat free yoghurts or a brown pitta bread or apples.

the yoghurts are probably the best ones to eat, cos they will probably digest quicker, id stay away from apples and pitta bread too late in the evening, although yoghurts dont really stop you being hungry lol!

omg! theyre always telling us to eat loads of fruit! i know some fruits are really high in sugar, like grapes, so you should only have a few of those a day, but i thought other fruit was ok for you, obviously not!

I will always remember something my cookery teacher said to me - Every food you eat is good for you in some way, its the quantity of that certain food that you eat that is really unhealthy I think it's true...

i know, i eat loads of fruit cos its meant to be good for you. i always have at least one fruit juice a day and about 3 or 4 pieces of fruit, think i might need to cut down. though they say youre meant to have 5 lots of fruit and veg a day so ill just have to start eating lots of veg instead (even though i eat quite a lot anyway!)
