The iplayer doesn't work in countries outside the UK for legal reasons.

I don't see why they shouldn't allow that even if it was only available the watch online that would still be great It would save a lot of dvd recording

My country receives BBC television broadcasts, why can't I use BBC iPlayer?

The BBC has acquired on demand rights to offer television programmes only in Britain and not to anywhere else in the world. It would also cost us to offer the large file sizes of television programmes on overseas networks.

Can I use iplayer outside the UK?

Rights agreements mean that BBC iPlayer television programmes are only available to users to download or stream (Click to Play) in the UK. However, BBC Worldwide is working on an international version, which we will make available as soon as possible.
I wish they would set up an automatic or pre-programmable download feature so if you're away the player will download the program for you.
    Thanks CrazyLea
