I don't think any drug addict is intending to kill themselves, certainly never heard the reference self slaughter relating to any suicide, whether intended or accidental.

I am personally glad he is going. I am not keen on him as a character really... and if you ask me, trying to smother someone with a pillow is attempted murder.. it will be a good way for the character to go and I always found it unrealistic the way he came out of the clinic suddenly being presented as being in a reasonable state of mind and trying to be 'pally' with Jane after he shot her! so I'm glad his psychotic nature is resurfacing as it wouldn't have dissapeared just like that!.. makes it realistic I think..

What made Steven turn this way though? Has it been mentioned? I have only been watching on and off...I think we need proper justification from the EE writers over why he has turned out this way..

The more bizarre a storyline the less likely you are going to get an explanation let alone justification. But we can live in hope, maybe we will find out what made Steven tick.

This is what annoys me about EE. They never delve into the past of their psychos. If they did it would give the characters more depth and make them more interesting, I think.. Stella... a wasted opportunity.. and now Steven too!

Yes, I agree, they never really explained Stella's reasons for being so horrible, other than she had problems herself in her childhood (unless I missed it).

Might be wrong but wasnt it the fact Simon put his girlfriends before Steven?

Would that make him be horrible to his family or turn him gay?

Yeah....for example an old school friend of mine used to be put fourth best to her two sisters and her brother she didnt have any attention so she would do anything to get that attention she craved so badly....Steven could be doing the same

I don't know I thought self slaughter and suicide are the same - maybe not. As for the Demi/Leo storyline, if I remember right, Demi took a few pills and passed out. Leo found her and took the whole lot and when she came round he said he had eaten all the pills. I thought he was commiting suicide because he thought she was dead.

I think I read somewhere that we find out more about his past and that what happened in New Zealand is merely the tip of the iceberg.
