Inside Soap Spoiler - Lucy Beale

Now I know this is not technially a spoiler - but I did not want to put it in General in case someone did not want to read it as it does give a little away - anyway will stop rambling now:-

Prepare yourself for the most explosive week in the Beale's history, as Ians family turmoil reaches its shocking conclusion. This summer, the secrets and lies spun by members of the embattled clan will be blown apart leaving fans asking whether Ian and Jane have any hope of picking up the pieces after the terrible fallout.

Jane and Ian are almost beside themselves following Lucy's devastating vanishing act. But there are Plenty more twists and turns ahead, as the frantic couple discover more about whats really happened to their absent daughter in the weeks since she dissapeared from home and became a teenage runaway. "Before she went AWOL, Lucy felt nobody cared about her or understood her - especially her dad," explains our source. "Things will only get worse when Ian learns the real story behind what Lucys been through. Viewers have seen him go to hell and back wondering where his troubled daughter is, but the truth is so shocking that its going to give fans some totally unmissable drama!"

In a soap mag I bought this week... Soaplife I think it may be? There are pictures of Ian, Lucy and Steven at a train station I think.. or airport maybe, as Ian finds Lucy about to leave the country.. so she's not dead eh. Soaplife also said that MAYBE Steven leaves the country instead.. there is also a pic of him looking as if he's leaving (I hope so!).

Well I know you don't like Steven and I respect your view but I'm sorry he's leaving as he is one of my favourites. It's hard to see how Steven is invloved in whatever happened to Lucy though because he was in Walford the whole time that Lucy disappeared wasn't he? He is still in Walford and Lucy is still missing. I wonder if it comes out that Lucy gave Steven Craig's gun. I hope so. Then Ian and Jane will finally know that he never intended to take a gun with him to the flat that night and that the reason he did was because he was too messed up to hand it in.

The scriptwriters obviously don't know what they are doing. Lucy rasn away because Ian hit her. How could Steven be involved in that. I suppose the writers will imply next she arranged that party and got those people to smash up the house because Steven asked her to.

I could believe anything of Steven, as you can see he's not totally stable...but I'll reserve judgement til we see how the storyline really pans out.

Lizzie, Im sure the scriptwriters have some clue what they are doing and the storyline is leading up to Steven's departure...you really have put Steven on a pedestal. The character has flaws in his personality, which you seem blinded too.

I never said he didn't. Everyone has flaws. Even the best of people. I still don't think he's totally evil though. He just has problems.

i agree. i think stevens been ploting this the whole time got side tracked by the stacey christian thing but who knwos with eastenders they often twist it into weird unheard of unrealistic plots. no doubt this would be one of them too.

I doubt he was plotting the whole time. Its so stupid to take him down the David Platt route - it would completely destroy the charecter. Last time it was a bit obvious, not onlty because he was revealed as the stalker but he also had that funny look in his eyes and he smirked quite a lot and there was all that shakimng. This time there is none of that. I'm still ery annoyed that they changed Steven's charecter completel;y just to make good drama but then again the scriptwriters are so inconsistent./ Long ago Billy used to bully Jamie and now he's had a complete U turn personality. Minty uised to be horrible to Laura over the rent but now he's become completely gentle and kind - senseless but this is EastEnders. Anyway the plot sounds very slipshod.

    1. Lcy holds party. Strangers trash the house. Steven tells Ian and clears up. Steven witnesses Lucy and ian arguing. Lucy behaves like a spoilt brat and Ian hits her. She disappears.

    2. Now we are supposed to believe her disappearance is part of Steven's master plan despite the fact that he would hardly have had time between the time that Lucy wrecked the house and vanished and despite the fact that he's been working in the cafe and hanging round with stacey and been in the square so much that its hard to believe how he managed to hide Lucy, provide for her and everything else without anyone noticing he wasn't around and thinking it odd.

    3. Pat ends up in hospital when Roxy accidentally breaks her leg (goodness knows how) and we are supposed to believe that Steven is some super villain who can con his way into a hospital full of people and attack Pat supposedly because she finds out he is hiding Lucy somewhere and for no apparent reason.

Anyway if he were doing all this surely the audience would pick up on it - he would smirk or look uncomfortable but no we are supposed to believe that an eighteen year old is a criminal mastermind. Even if I didn't like Steven which I do, I would still say this plot is over the top - bit like Tanya going crazy and burying Max. And his relapse is based on his having stopped medication a few months ago - even if he did surely his relapse would be gradual. Honestly. I am not saying Steven is perfect - nobody is. He is flawed like everyone else. It was bad of him to lie about Christian for a start and smash up his own stall and blame Stacey and Ian for it. And whatever happened to Lucy while she ran off it doesn't excuse her behaviour before she left - she acted like a spoiled brat.
