I'm about 30 miles north of where the epicentre was. Some of the houses in town have been badly damaged and people have had to move out.

I woke up a few minutes before it happened so I wasn't fully awake. I thought to myself "its only an earthquake..." I wish I'd been properly awake, its not everyday that you witness an earthquake in this country.

My mum started screaming then ran downstairs and switched every light on.
    Thanks CrazyLea

I can't believe people have set those up, it wasn't even a big earthquake with widespread disaster!

I slept through which isn't a surprise as I live down South. There's this boy in my Geography class though who claims that he doesn't sleep well and therefore was still awake when it struck. He said he was on MSN at the time and felt it faintly, which I found quite shocking. He also said he was talking to someone who lived up North at the time and they felt the house shake.
