Beckham tells Cruise she can't help him

Tom Cruise has revealed that Victoria Beckham refused to help him when he asked if she could get him some tickets to see one of her Spice Girls reunion concerts.

The Mission: Impossible actor, a friend of Victoria and her husband David Beckham, wanted to see her perform with her bandmates.

But Cruise claimed she turned him down, saying: "You know what, I phoned Victoria but she said, 'I'm sorry we're sold out.'"

    Taylforth speaks about daughter's crash

Gillian Taylforth has spoken out about how her 15-year-old daughter died in a car accident, before being brought back to life by paramedics.

The Bill actress revealed her gratitude for the help her daughter Jessie received, and explained that she had been in a car with two male friends.

Taylforth told Hello! magazine: "My daughter died while trapped in the car. The paramedics saved her life. I can't thank them or the doctors and nurses enough."

She explained how she had said goodbye to Jessie, saying: "She came downstairs, I asked her for a kiss, which I wouldn't normally, and as the three of them left the house I shouted, 'Drive safely'."

But a short while later she got a call from one of the boys telling her what had happened. The former EastEnders star said of the crash scene: "It was chaos. There were strangers there and one woman had been holding Jessie's hand the whole time, for which I'll be eternally grateful.

"I kept looking at her and could see that her eyes were open but she seemed drowsy and could barely speak. All she could say was, 'Mum'."

Taylforth continued: "The firemen cut away the car but, as the paramedics tried to move Jessie, her eyes rolled backwards into her head and she stopped breathing. They rapidly put a line into her and covered her face with an oxygen mask.

"I didn't know at the time, but Jessie had died in that moment and their quick actions saved her life. They just kept on saying, 'We will get her back, we will get her back'.

"I felt my world had gone into free fall. All I could think was, 'That's my baby.' And I did a deal with God, 'Please don't let my baby die, she's not ready to be taken from me yet. I'll do anything, just please don't let my baby die'."

Jessie was allowed to leave hospital and return home to her mother last Thursday.

Watson's voice may be damaged by surgery

Watson was due to undergo surgery to remove the tumour at 0730 GMT at the Alexandra private hospital in Cheshire.
The singer, 40, was recording on Thursday when he was taken ill. He had a benign brain tumour removed a year ago after falling ill in the US.
The Salford-born tenor, who used to be a factory worker before he turned to singing, has sold more than four million albums worldwide.
    'Complex surgery'
A spokeswoman for the hospital in Cheadle confirmed that Watson was admitted on Wednesday afternoon.
"Russell Watson is at the Alexandra Hospital. He came in yesterday afternoon. No other information can be given at this time."
She said the hospital was used to doing "complex surgery".

Watson's agent, Richard Thompson, described the tumour as "major".
"Our thoughts are with Russell and his family," he added.
The singer had an emergency operation to remove a benign brain tumour in September 2006.
The operation to remove the tumour, called a pituitary adenoma, took place at St George's Hospital in south London.
He recovered but was forced to cancel television appearances and postpone a UK tour.
His latest album, Outside In, is due for release on 26 November.
Watson found fame after the chairman of Manchester United invited him to sing Nessun Dorma ahead of the football team's last match of the season in 1999. Watson got a standing ovation and later landed a recording contract.
Russell Watson's voice may have been damaged by his emergency brain surgery last week.

The opera singer underwent surgery last Thursday after he fell ill in the recording studio and an MRI scan showed he had a brain tumour.

Surgeons had hoped they could operate on the tumour through his nose, but Watson still has scar tissue from two golf-ball sized tumours he suffered a year ago, so they were forced to enter via his mouth.

Richard Thompson, the singer's manager, told The Times: "There was some concern because when he came out of theatre he was having trouble speaking, but he's speaking normally now.

"It is a worry, but we don't know how much of a worry. When he had the operation a year ago we didn't want to go through the mouth for obvious reasons, but there was no option this time.

"He's got stitches in his mouth and they'll need to heal. But he will be singing again."

How old is she that it came as a surprise? Surely she is not that old yet? If she is getting on a bit, she does not look bad, I must admit.

Mills breaks down over media smears

Heather Mills broke down during a television interview this morning and claimed that the media has been smearing her name and treating her in the same way as Princess Diana and Kate McCann.

The estranged wife of Sir Paul McCartney accused a "certain corner" of encouraging the media to treat her in such a way, and claimed she had received death threats. She said that the situation has forced her to be "close to suicide".

Mills accused the paparazzi of "pushing her to the edge" and requested that the public stop fuelling them by buying the tabloid newspapers.

While speaking on GMTV she appeared to break down, then apologised and said: "What are we doing as a nation buying these newspapers?

"We need to force a change as a responsible nation."

Paris Hilton sued for 'stealing' style

A woman has filed a lawsuit against Paris Hilton, accusing the socialite of stealing her look and style.

Nicolle O'Neill claimed that she has suffered from "emotional distress" because the heiress has stolen her image.

Earlier this month, O'Neill filed the two-page personal injury complaint at the Los Angeles Superior Court, insisting that Hilton dresses like her and even stole her idea of flashing her underwear.

Hilton has not yet commented on the claims.
