CASUALTY fans should brace themselves for the worst when Selena Donovan meets a violent end in an upcoming episode.

The pregnant doctor - played by Liz Carling - dies during a tragic confrontation with an armed man.

As she lays dying, Selena's unborn baby is delivered by her former lover Harry.

A Casualty spokeswoman would confirm only that the episode - due to screen in several weeks' time - was "incredibly dramatic".

Liz joined the Casualty cast as Selena in 2003 and has seen her character survive a failed marriage - to Will, a kidnap attempt, a bout of MRSA and a stabbing at the hands of drug traffickers.

Recently she broke off her engagement to Nathan after discovering he had slept with prostitutes. She later discovered she was pregnant with his child.

Well if this turns out to be true, then i was right about her not having had the baby aborted. But i hope she doesn't die, as i quite like her character. But good to see Harry is back

The Sun has revealed that CASUALTY's Liz Carling is to leave the show.

Liz made her first short stint on the show in March 2003, before joining as a regular at the beginning of Series 19. Her dramatic exit will mark the end of the current series due to be screened at the end of July.

Her character has had a number of storylines during her time on the show including a failed marriage to Will Manning, a stabbing at the hands of drug traffickers and an MRSA diagnosis. More recently, Selena broke off her engagement to manager Nathan after learning he had slept with prostitutes and claimed to have aborted his baby.

Her exit storyline which has been said to be 'incredibly dramatic' involves the return of her former lover Harry Harper, who previously left his post as Consultant to become an MP.

Liz Carling's departure is one of a number of cast exits to be hitting the show this year.

this will be really sad the good htink though is harry comes back. I had a feeling she didnt go through with the abortion as well.

I didnt think Selena had got rid of her baby, as in the ep when the teenager had a baby (the one charity from emmerdale was in) at the end it showed Selena crying and she was holding her stomach, and when she had suposedly had it nathan was their as she came out and it looked like she wanted to tell him someting but he just started shouting at her and wouldnt let her get a word in.
I dont want her to leave though, as she is one of the only good ones in the show at the mo, and i dont want ben to leave either, and peter isnt in it for much longer either, theirs gonna be no one god left
