    Prom Help

Hi guys, my prom is coming up soon and i need some advice.

I'm going in a limo with my friend and a load of other girls in my year. I don't know these girls particularly well, but i do say hello when i see them etc, anyway, they offered for me and my two mates to go in the limo with them. Me and one of my mates accepted. My other mate didn't want too as he said he didn't like them.

Anyway, the limo is picking us up. Me, my mate and these other girls, and we'll be going around in the limo for a while before we turn up at our prom. Then when the prom's finished, our limo is picking us up again and taking us back. Me and my mate have gave one of the girls £12 each to pay towards the limo. Everything was fine until the girl we paid said that the limo they tried to book, they couldn't get, so she had to book up another limo instead. Now she says, we have to pay another £10 towards the limo in the next week or so..now my question is, am i getting ripped off here by paying £24 altogether to go in a limo that will take us round for a while and drop us off at the prom and then pick us back up again? Because my other mate who said they didn't like these girls says that i'm being ripped off by them as they'll be paying less than £24 and me and my other mate will be paying more than them. What do you guys think?

Sorry if this sounds complicated but i've tried to explain it as best i can!

When we had my leavers do i had to pay £100 and all the limos do for us is pick us up from our house then drive us to school wait around the back of the school until its their turn to go through drive through the quad and stop on the quad at school where we get out infront of the whole school + parents and stuff before we make our way up to the hall - that is all we have transport for - now i had to pay 100 quid because basics of it is my "mates" didnt want me in their car with them and some other girls said i could go with them but it was 8 weeks before the event and it was a pink limo so cost slightly more than say a black one would - though it was kinda good cos on the day the pink one broke down on the way so they had to change it to a black one so they fully re-funded us for it

Yep what Tabbie says is a good idea, ask around what the others are paying for their limo!

i actually think that seems quite reasonable, i know people who payed alot more for there limo and they didnt even get picked up afterwards. But i think asking around would be a good bet first.

I got my prom soon too *squeee* Anyway i think firstly your better off just asking them how much it is costing in all, if your going in it you#ve got a right to know how much it is costing

But i'm paying £25 for my limo, in all its costing us £200, and there is 8 of us, split fairly its £25 each - and that is to pick us up, have an hour's cruise and then to be dropped off at the prom. We're not getting picked up as the after party is round the corner, and it would of cost more!
Friends of mine are paying between £20 and £60 just for their limos!

I paid about £30 for mine, i think? We got picked up and taken there (Which took a month of Sundays, because of where it was being held), and then we got picked up, and taken around Central London for 2 hours afterwards. Ask what the name of the company is, and look them up on the internet, and you'll find out the rough price of their limo's, so you'll get a better idea. Because really, it depends where you are, as to how expensive it will be.

I have my prom soon, and I'm paying £25 for my limo, and I think thats what most people in my year are paying. The limo is going to pick up, drive us around for an hour, then drop off. If you looked up the limo company and the limo that you are getting, then you could see if you are paying a fair price. Hope you have a good time at your prom

For what I can see Davey £25 seems to be the normal price to pay. If in doubt. Can you ask the girl who is organising it how there is a large jump in price from when she first asked you. See if you can find out the total cost of hire of the limo and ask how many will be travelling in it to nake sure you are all paying an equal amount and not getting ripped off.

Thanks to Vicky for my great new banner xxx
