Harry plans to visit the remains of his parents' home at Godric's Hollow. Ron Weasley and Hermione Granger plan on accompanying him on this trip.
Bill Weasley and Fleur Delacour plan on getting married in August. Several of the main characters have been invited.
It is unclear what will happen to Hogwarts after the attack on the school at the end of book six, but Harry has said he will leave school to continue his battle against Voldemort. If the school reopens, new instructors will be needed for Defence Against the Dark Arts (replacing Severus Snape), and possibly Transfiguration in the event Minerva McGonagall becomes Headmistress.
Harry comes of age (for wizards) when he turns 17, and is therefore entitled to perform magic outside of school and to obtain a licence to Apparate. His friends Ron Weasley and Hermione Granger, and many of his classmates, already turned 17 during the sixth year, and Neville Longbottom turns 17 on July 30 - the day before Harry does.[15]
There is no explanation at the end of Half-Blood Prince as to the true identity of the mysterious "R.A.B.", who claimed to have stolen one of Voldemort's Horcruxes with the intent to destroy it, while replacing it with a fake that was recovered by Harry and Dumbledore.HBP Ch.28 The most likely candidate is Regulus Black, who Rowling said was "a fine guess" for R.A.B.'s identity in an interview. Also in book 5 when cleaning out the cupboards in 12 Grimmauld Place Mrs. Wealsey finds a heavy locket that she was unable to open.[16]
Because Harry convinced Remus Lupin and Sirius Black to spare Peter Pettigrew's life in the third book, Pettigrew owes Potter a yet unpaid life debt.
The quest to identify, locate, and destroy Voldemort's remaining Horcruxes will continue. The remaining Horcruxes must be destroyed before Voldemort can be successfully conquered.
Harry will have his final battle with Lord Voldemort by the book's end.
Thanks. There's a fair bit in there that we didn't know before. I can't wait for it to come out.

i dont want him to - just think he will make some mad sacrifice - just looked on leaky - they seem to think voldemore will be overcome with some thing - they have quotes saying there are things worse than death - voldemore doesnt "get" love - maybe his destruction will be in harry forgiving him?

Didn't Peeves stay in book 5 that there are things worse than death? It was towards the end, after Sirius had died and Harry went looking for Peaves to ask him when Sirius would return. Peeves said that you have to do something to leave an imprint on earth to come back as a ghost. I know that in this book we find out more about ghosts so maybe it's related.

Another thing on the ghosts, aren't there four ghosts altogether? I can only remember Peeves, Nick, the Bloody Baron and I can't think who the other one is.

Just had a thought while writing this, what if Voldemort has done the same thing and plans to come back as a ghost if he gets killed?

Harry Potter and The Deathly Hallows - usually the book title has something to do with Harry that affects him in a personal way.
Deathly - that would imply somebody dying. Hallows means "to make sacred by a religious rite." So I'll draw a conclusion that somebody will die in a religious way.

    Dumbledores Back !!!!!!!

    got from mugglenet

Dumbledore: back (in some form) in Book 7
The Times Online and The Observer have both released new interviews with the Harry Potter actor.

Of particular interest to book fans, the latter website provides an interesting experience Dan had with Jo during one of her OOTP set visits:
"Jo came down to the set at one point and I said, 'Oh hello, why are you here today?' And she said, 'Oh I just needed a break from the book - Dumbledore's giving me a lot of trouble.' And I said, 'But isn't he dead?' And she said, 'Well, yeah, but it's more complex...' I was like, [briskly] 'OK, I'm not gonna ask anything else!'"
The interview also includes talk on Equus and Dan's personal life. The Times article finds Dan discussing what he wants to happen to Harry at the end of Deathly Hallows:
"I want him to die because I have a melodramatic yearning for a death scene. And the prophecy in the fifth book says only one of Harry and Voldemort can live. Or is it that neither can live while the other survives? Oh God, what is it? The fans will kill me if I've got that wrong."

I think I have to agree with Dan in the Times article. In order to "free" himself of the Harry sterotype, Harry has to die. Bit worried that he can't remember what the prophecy says though!

Jo going to see Dan in Equus with naked scenes. If that were me I wouldn't be able to look at him in the same way again.

    American 'Deathly Hallows' 784 pages!

Scholastic announced today that the US edition of Deathly Hallows will contain 784 pages, making it the second longest book in the series behind OOTP!

Since the US versions of the books are published in a larger font and contain chapter pictures, this should mean the UK version will be around 700 pages long.

The US version of the book will have an initial print-run of 12 million, and the publisher has also revealed that each of these copies "will be printed on paper that contains a minimum of 30% post-consumer waste (pcw) fiber."

The President of Scholastic Trade Publishing and Book Fairs said, "Scholastic worked hard with our suppliers and the Rainforest Alliance to secure this extraordinary amount of recycled and FSC certified paper for Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows. As a company with an ongoing commitment to protecting the environment for this generation and generations to come, we believe producing this book and our future reprints of Harry Potter books with a minimum of 30% pcw recycled paper is an important publishing decision."
