I doubt Jo Joyner would want to return, except maybe for a short time.

With Max, I feel it is just repeating the same old tales, with some different faces. Personally I am bored by it. Surely he should realize you cannot make people like you, by telling them to. When he said he was a good person, has everyone forgotten the Wayland Affair?

to be fair on max how many conspired against him to protect bobby even lauren, he is flawed like them all but they are hypocrites especially ian and cindy

Perhaps Ian has a "magic safe" like Phil's which seems to generate money while the door is closed.
Because people are nasty to Max, does not make him a good person. I have said before that there is to much forgiveness in Walford, I do not believe anyone would ever have been forgiven him for how he acted in the "Wayland Affair". I would have thought Linda would be glad to see the back of him, instead of trying to persuading him to stay. Eastenders default position when they run out of new ideas seems to be to bring back past characters and more or less repeat what happened before.
