The highly-anticipated crossover between Coronation Street and Emmerdale is edging ever closer, and we now have a new teaser trailer to ramp up the excitement even more. In typical soap fashion, Corriedale looks to be packed full of high-stakes drama.
As the crossover between the pair of iconic ITV soaps is set to hit the small screen next month, fans are naturally eager to see what could be in store for the collection of characters, and we now have a little glimpse.
The new trailer depicts a grisly scene following a multi-vehicle collision on the outskirts of Hotten, with the crash coming on a "dark and stormy country road". With danger at an all-time high, we begin to hear the faint echo of distant voices.
For fans of Corrie, we can place them as David Platt (Jack P Shepherd) and Tracy Barlow (Kate Ford), while Emmerdale aficionados will notice that Liam Cavanagh (Jonny McPherson) and Aaron Dingle (Danny Miller) can be heard.
What's unclear, however, is how the residents of Weatherfield have ended up across the Pennines in Yorkshire, and crucially it remains unknown how the "catastrophic" crash materialised.
"Corriedale is just the start of the drama as the aftermath of the crash gives rise to fear, murderous intent, death, destruction, closely-guarded secrets and lies," teases the logline. "Life in Emmerdale and Weatherfield will never be the same again!"
Furthermore, we get a first glimpse at the official Corriedale logo, while it has also been confirmed that the episode will be an hour in duration. We still don't have an exact air date, but we know it's coming in early January 2026.
In addition to the aforementioned names, three of whom (Shepherd, Ford and McPherson) are new announcements, the only other confirmed cast member so far is Vicky Myers, who will reprise her role as DS Lisa Swain from Corrie.
Myers, who joined the soap in 2021, said of the crossover: "To be involved in this unique, bold, innovative, not to mention history-making episode, in Coronation Street's 65th year, (well, when we are filming it at least), is fantastic.
"When I read the script and found out how two worlds collide, who is involved and how the characters interact, not to mention the impact the events of the night will have? Wow. It's going to be unmissable."
