Kate Brooks has confirmed that Becky Swain will become a major new villain for the show. The ITV soap will unleash a dramatic storyline in the coming weeks, as Becky ruthlessly plots to destroy the relationship between Lisa Swain and Carla Connor.

It makes me sad that they have to make Becky a villian trying to destroy Lisa and Carla's relationship. I would of been more interested to see Becky come in with the same story of coming back alive from being assumed dead and having to earn forgiveness from Betsy and Lisa. Then working on building on that with that interesting dynamic of Betsy now having the mother back she thought was dead and both of them having to learn to adapt to each other again. It didn't need to be a villian story, it could have just been a really interesting plot and stuff. But now because Betsy will probably lose all the good memories she probably had of Becky and once Becky does the unforgivable things will now think of Becky as a terrible human. That is my take anyway.
