Neighbours has announced another new addition to the cast, with Lakota Johnson joining the soap as regular character Taye.

The news was shared on Neighbours' Instagram account, with the show posting a photo of a smiling Johnson holding the Ramsay Street sign in front of Lassiters.

"Taye is coming to town!" the soap revealed in the caption. "We're excited to announce that Lakota Johnson will soon join the full-time cast. Connected to the Varga-Murphy family, Taye is sure to break some rules (and some hearts) on Ramsay Street."

Fans are already beginning to speculate over who exactly Taye might be, with one commenting, "Is this the kid Cara wanted?" to which another replied, "the baby daddy".

Another viewer suggested that Taye could be a relative of Remi's, writing, "Please be a cousin of Remi and not a brother. Ever since the Chelsea debacle, and then Felix, I've been hoping Remi is an only child."

It was also suggested that Taye could be "another love interest for Holly", while another wrote that "Aaron needs a man". One fan commented that he may become a "share-house occupant", pointing out that "the others need help with the rent".

Taye's arrival is likely to mark another twist for the Varga-Murphy family, following the discovery that Cara has been harbouring a secret dream to have another baby.

Johnson won't be the only new cast member on set over the coming months, as the soap has also recently announced the upcoming arrival of Sebastian 'Seb' Metcalfe, who has a tangled history with Krista Sinclair.

Fans will also soon see the return of original character Shane Ramsay, who will arrive alongside new character Max, who is Shane's son.

The string of casting announcements follows the exits of long-serving characters Toadie, Nell and Hugo Rebecchi, as well as the departures of Mackenzie Hargreaves and Haz Devkar.

Neighbours fans can expect more house-swapping antics next week as unexpected tensions push Taye Obasi to breaking point.

Taye decides that it's time to wave goodbye to No.30 after falling out with his sister-in-law Cara Varga-Murphy.

The trouble all kicks off as Taye's co-workers at Lassiters start to suspect that he's leaking information to Cara.

Taye starts to be frozen out by his former friends on the team, which turns his job at the Piano Bar into a nightmare.

"Cara's new job as compliance officer is the talk of Lassiters as she's exposing scandalous secrets left, right and centre," our Neighbours source explains.

"Holly is the one who's leaking all the juicy gossip about the other employees, but she's managed to fly under the radar while spilling the beans.

"As Taye lives with Cara, it's no real surprise that he's everyone's top suspect for being the workplace snitch."

As the situation becomes unbearable, Taye and Cara snipe at each other while at home. It all gets too much for Taye, so he announces that he's moving out.

Taye's sister Remi is gutted over the news, but he stands firm and insists that it's the right thing to do. Unsurprisingly, the nearby share house at No.32 is top of his list of alternative homes.

"Taye goes in all guns blazing and accidentally interrupts Holly and Max when they're enjoying an intimate moment in the backyard pool," our insider adds.

"He doesn't let that stop him, though, and confidently pitches himself as the ideal housemate.

"Max, who's already friendly with Taye, thinks it's a great idea ? but how will Byron feel about this potentially closing the door on a return for Sadie?"

Neighbours airs these scenes on Wednesday, April 16 and Thursday, April 17.

Neighbours' Taye Obasi is set to become the 'new Byron Stone' in an upcoming escorting storyline.

The newcomer recently found himself in hot water when he accidentally booked an expensive entertainer for the Piano Bar. Taye blackmailed Fallon Morell into giving him $10,000 but, after losing his leverage, Fallon has been demanding her money back.

In next week's episodes, uplifted Sadie Rodwell agrees to a drink with Max Ramsay and Byron at The Waterhole. Meanwhile, working at the Piano Bar, Taye's attention is caught by a glamourous woman who asks if Byron is on shift.

After relaying that Byron doesn't work there, Taye texts his friend. When Byron arrives, he's thrown to see it's one of his former escorting clients, Lydia Hardy.

Lydia offers to hire him again but Byron tells her he's no longer in the game, leaving an eavesdropping Taye with an idea.

Byron shares Lydia's offer with his amused friends, but privately tells Taye how much he used to earn from escorting. Taye is stunned, as his thoughts turn to the money he owes Fallon and the cash he needs to fund his move to the share house.

Back at the Piano Bar, Taye gives Lydia his number, claiming he's an escort too, and giving his name as 'Sonny Manhattan'.

After work, when Max asks Taye if he's found a solution to his money troubles, Taye hints he has. He gets a text from Lydia saying they're on and he heads off to meet her at her rented accommodation.

When Taye arrives, he's nervous. But assuming he's role playing, Lydia takes charge, telling him to take off his shirt. Taye begins to strip, way out of his comfort zone. Will he go through with it?

Money pressures are mounting for Taye (Lakota Johnson), who owes Fallon (Kate Connick) a sizeable debt (and at the share house) and is forced to make a shocking decision.

This week in Neighbours, after hearing a conversation about Byron's (Xavier Molyneux) past as an escort, Taye sees an opportunity when Byron's former client Lydia Hardy arrives in town.

"Taye is desperate for money and do whatever it takes to get it," Lskota, 23, tells TV Week. What starts as a quick fix for his financial woes soon spirals out of control.

Taye meets Lydia at her Airbnb, nerves kicking in as the fantasy turns real. Stripping down and playing the part, he earns a thick wad of cash - a new set of problems.

"He's definitely nervous and a bit shy but he knows he has to get the money, so he tries to enjoy himself as much as possible," Lakota explains.

While Taye tries to keep things cool st the Piano Bar, Lydia appears again, toying with him in public. Juggling this double life is becoming harder by the day.

"He's definitely concerned, but knows he has what it takes to stay under the radar because he knows he can't let this get out," Lakota adds. And with Fallon growing impatient about his debt, the pressure is only intensifying. "

Neighbours has lined up a sinister twist for Taye Obasi in his ongoing escorting storyline.

Taye turned to the line of work earlier this year as he needed more income, with the figure combining his new role with his existing job of running The Piano Bar after overhearing details from Byron Stone.

After Byron left the industry, Taye stepped into his place and became acquainted with one of his former clients, Lydia Hardy. Despite being out of his comfort zone, Taye reasoned that he was left with little choice but to take the money.

In scenes set to air on Monday and Tuesday (16 and 17 June), Taye decides to retire from his escorting role as he prioritises the management of The Piano Bar, with the figure promptly informing Lydia of his decision.

Despite being offered more money by Lydia to continue his work, Taye isn't swayed and remains committed to leaving for good. Attempting to move on with his life, he heads for lunch with Cara and Remi.

He gets a shock, however, when the pair invite their boss to the catch-up, with the figure turning out to be Lydia. She uses the situation to her advantage, threatening to impact Cara's life if Taye didn't continue his escorting work.

Intimidated by her demands, Taye seeks advice from Byron regarding his experience with Lydia. Things become more ominous as Byron recalls their partnership, with the figure sharing that he had to cut ties with the client due to her intense and manipulative ways.

The walls begin to close in for Taye as Cara reveals that her law exam has been brought forward by Lydia, with the character realising that his client will stop at nothing to get exactly what she wants.

Feeling as if he has no other option, Taye reluctantly makes a deal with Lydia to keep Cara out of harm's way. Now a victim of coercion and blackmail, how will Taye deal with the sinister Lydia?
