    Exclamation Dylan (Fred Kettle)

    https://www.digitalspy.com/soaps/emm...-dylan-return/

Emmerdale has confirmed that April Windsor's friend Dylan is making a dramatic return to the show next week.

Young actor Fred Kettle, who was highly praised for his role in April's special episode this month, is coming back as Dylan for the next chapter in the storyline.

April turns to Dylan for support again as she struggles to adjust to her life back in the village.

In upcoming scenes, Marlon Dingle remains determined to keep a close eye on April. This annoys her, as she can tell that her father still doesn't trust her to stick around.

When it all becomes too much, April heads to a derelict squat for an emotional reunion with Dylan.

Marlon follows April and jumps to conclusions about what's going on. Dylan bears the brunt of this, as Marlon shoves him up against a wall.

The tense situation leaves April in despair, as she's left more convinced than ever that Marlon simply doesn't understand what she went through on the streets.

Marlon sees Dylan in a better light when the young lad takes the mature approach, encouraging April to go back home with Marlon.

The next day, Marlon can't believe his eyes when he sees that Dylan has followed him and April back to the village.

April explains that she invited Dylan, as she believes that he could make a life for himself in a close-knit community like Emmerdale.

Marlon is full of doubt, but he agrees to speak to his wife Rhona about the possibility of Dylan staying for one night. How will Rhona respond?

Emmerdale has confirmed that Fred Kettle will reprise his role as Dylan Penders in a big new story for April Windsor.

Dylan and April first met earlier this year following her spell on the streets, with Dylan subsequently making his way to the Dales as he attempted to get clean from drugs.

Despite caring for April, Dylan often clashed with her father Marlon, with Marlon then framing the teen for a robbery in a bid to have him leave. The pair eventually came to some sort of understanding, with Dylan leaving the village for rehab in March.

It has now been revealed, however, that Kettle will reprise his role as the popular character in the near future.

"Lovely Fred Kettle, who plays Dylan, is coming back to the show," producer Laura Shaw told Digital Spy and other media.

"He?s going to be bringing his past back to the village with him. And that?s going to cause huge problems for April and the wider family there. We?ve got a couple of exciting new castings that are joining us for that story, but I?m not allowed to tell you who they are. Watch this space, because it?s very exciting."

Kettle's return will no doubt please fans, in addition to Mark Charnock, with the actor ? who plays Marlon Dingle ? praising his younger co-star back in March.

"I say this as objectively as I can, he is one of the best young actors I have worked with," said Charnock of his co-star. "He puts me in mind of so many of the great young actors we've got on this.

"He's really into his job, he's nuanced, he's clever, he's attentive, he's really professional, he's one of the team, he is everything you could want in a young actor. As far as I'm concerned, if he doesn't go a long way, there's something wrong with the business, he's a really good actor."

I know that Dylan wasn't everyone's cup of tea, but I really liked how he looked after April and made sure she was okay while never making advances on her. He had encouraged her to think differently of Marlon one of those nights on the street where he told her that Marlon had a kind face. I liked their friendship. They were almost like brother and sister to me, and I like that.

If he is returning, I hope that Marlon can show him more grace than he did last time. His daughter was safe thanks to this boy.

Plus as with any soap, I suspect that he will turn out to be related to a legacy family, because new characters always seem woven in that way.

Did Dylan tell April why he was on streets, about his family?
