Can the police arrest Cain for being stupid? None of this story about Anthony's car makes sense. First of all he went to the police and said he bought Anthony's car for spares, drawing attention to himself, when he had no need to. How many people in the village have a car that would need jaguar parts? Might be years before they would be used, might as well have thrown ?500 in the fire. Aaron said the car was disposed of by a dodgy scrapper. So how could Cain show the police the parts, or did they not ask to see them?

As for the tooth, if the police had found it, would it not look a bit odd that it was sitting in plain sight instead of rolling into a corner if he had been driving about with in the boot.

How would anyone in Leeds or Hotten know Cain had the parts. When you leave your car in a garage for repair, you need to get home, I do not think Cain has a courtesy car, so I have always found it hard to believe many people from outside the village would use him.
I would not mind the murder storyline if they just gave it a bit more thought, and made it more real. Since they do not want Steph to know about the abuse, they cannot go to court, although I am sure she will find out at some point.

I feel for them for wanting to protect Steph but she is an adult and there are ways of telling somebody in a gentle way what a person did to them when they were very young. But of course, this is drama so it has to be prolonged ...

On a soap, secrets always come out, and in the worst possible way. Of course, it would be easier to tell Steph now, in a controlled way, but then where would the drama be?

A jaguar is a luxury car but was not old enough to be rare. Cain did not want any parts for any car, this was just a story to explain the noise Aaron made when working in the garage. If I understand this correctly, Aaron had already got rid of all trace of the car before Cain even knew about it or went to the police, which is why I do not understand why they did not ask to see them. The story has not been thought out well, by either the characters or the writers.
