Neighbours has confirmed that Toadie Rebecchi will return to the soap later this month.

Ryan Moloney, who plays Toadie, bowed out as a show regular in September but he'll continue to feature for guest appearances in the coming months.

New spoiler pictures have now shown Toadie making the first of his return visits.

One photo from Neighbours' episode on Wednesday, November 27, sees Toadie catch up with Susan Kennedy back in Erinsborough, while a follow-up on Thursday, November 28, sees him spending time with his estranged wife Terese Willis.

Others ? from episodes airing on Monday, December 2 and Thursday, December 5 ? show Toadie sharing scenes with his daughter Nell, who celebrates her 16th birthday on Ramsay Street.

Tanner Ellis-Anderson, who plays Toadie's son Hugo Rebecchi, also reprises his role for these scenes.

Neighbours favourite Toadie Rebecchi returns to Ramsay Street next week with sad news about a close family member.

Toadie leans on his estranged wife Terese Willis for support after learning that his father Big Kev has cancer.

When Toadie first arrives back in town, Terese pretends that everything is normal in her life ? hiding her recent alcohol relapse and how it led to her being ousted from Eirini Rising.

However, this secrecy quickly becomes difficult when Toadie reveals that he'd like his teenage daughter Nell to come and live with Terese again.

Toadie explains that he doesn't want Nell to have to watch her seriously-ill grandfather pass away, as it could be triggering after the traumatic death of her mum Sonya in 2019.

Although Terese is sympathetic, she privately doubts whether she's in a strong enough position to take care of Nell after her own recent problems.

While Terese still can't bring herself to be upfront with Toadie, the truth comes out when Jane Harris fills him in on what's been going on.

Immediately concerned for Terese's wellbeing, Toadie withdraws his request for her to look after Nell. This upsets Terese, who accuses Toadie of messing her around with mixed messages again.

As Toadie searches for alternative solutions, he asks if Karl and Susan Kennedy would be willing to give Nell a place to stay.

The Kennedys agree in principle, but they encourage Toadie to speak openly with his daughter about Big Kev and see how she feels about everything.

Will Nell be moving back to Ramsay Street on a full-time basis?

Neighbours favourite Toadie Rebecchi makes a big decision about his daughter Nell's future next week.

The legendary character is returning for the first of a series of guest appearances following his departure as a show regular in September.

Toadie arrives back in town to seek support from his estranged wife Terese Willis, needing her to look after Nell for a while.

Terese is shocked as Toadie explains that his father Big Kev has cancer, and he doesn't want Nell to stay in Colac to see him deteriorate.

Just as Terese processes Toadie's suggestion, there's a second surprise in store as he finds out about her recent alcohol relapse and immediately withdraws the request.

In follow-on scenes next week, Toadie informs Nell about her grandfather's illness and asks whether she'd like to move back to Erinsborough.

Toadie is quick to clarify that staying Terese won't be an option, as he doesn't believe that her struggling stepmum can be relied upon at the moment.

His stance is solidified when Nell comes clean about the deal that she struck with Terese to protect each other's secrets.

Meanwhile, Terese receives strong encouragement from her ex-husband Paul Robinson to keep fighting for Nell.

Nell also admits to Terese that she'd prefer to stay with her if she had the choice.

As Terese doesn't believe that Toadie will change his mind, it's left to Nell to tackle her father.

The strong-willed teen points out that she moved to Colac for Toadie and it's now time for him to return the favour by letting her live where she wants.

Toadie ultimately agrees that Nell can move in with Terese after all, much to their delight.

JJ Varga-Murphy is also pleased to learn that his girlfriend will be coming back to live on Ramsay Street. Will Terese rise to the occasion now that Toadie has placed his trust in her?

Neighbours favourite Toadie Rebecchi breaks the news of a sad death next week.

Toadie heads back to Ramsay Street to announce that his father Big Kev has passed away.

The sombre scenes see Ryan Moloney reprise his role as Toadie just in time for the show's 40th anniversary episodes later this month.

Ryan bowed out as a show regular late last year, but he remained under contract to make several further guest appearances.

Ahead of Toadie's return, Paul Robinson makes his own Erinsborough comeback following a short break in New York.

Paul admits that he'd like to move back to Ramsay Street to be closer to his partner Terese Willis, rather than living away from her at the Lassiters penthouse.

The businessman also suggests holding an exhibition of Nell Rebecchi's artwork around the Lassiters complex.

Paul is impressed by the 'Story of Erinsborough' concept that Nell has been working on for a school project.

However, Nell openly doubts Paul's motives for promoting her work when she finds out that he wants to live with Terese again. She suspects that Paul is trying to worm his way into her good books, rather than genuinely appreciating her artistic talent.

Terese is relieved when bickering Paul and Nell manage to work out their latest misunderstanding, but the day takes another difficult turn when Toadie arrives back.

It's this moment that Toadie announces Kev's death, leaving Nell devastated.

Toadie revealed that Kev had cancer in November last year. This led to Nell moving back to Erinsborough, as Toadie didn't want her to have to witness her grandfather's health deteriorating. He feared that it could be triggering after the loss of Nell's mum Sonya in 2019.

Big Kev appeared in Neighbours on and off for guest appearances between 1995 and 2018, played by Don Bridges.
