They are obviously showing how child abuse can have long term effects lasting to much later in life but Tim is quite proud to have had his first sexual experience at 14 with an "older" woman and so far has never shown any indication that he was traumatised but then we would not have seen this being portrayed, I guess. Maybe that is yet to come. Also, abuse victims are not always aware that they were abused. Maybe they are trying to show that abusers can face charges much later in life to encourage victims that do suffer from mental health issues from abuse that happened many years ago..

If they are trying to show a long term affect with Tim I think they are failing. Unless Tim is lying about not feeling abused, then I think he was better off in his blissfully Ignorance. If Sally does convince him he has been abused, I do not think he will be better off for it.
When I was at school many years ago and about the same age as Tim was. Andy a boy who lived next door and was a few months younger than me, was having sex with girl who lived down our road. I think she was twenty, so a bit younger than Trisha. Andy was big for his age and more mature than most boys of that age, certainly more mature than me. I do not know the details of what happened, I only know of this because I was with him when he was discussing it with another lad who was also was also having sex with her. As far as I know he never felt abused, and like Tim was proud of it. In the time I knew him I never saw any evidence that he suffered ill effects in later life. If the truth be known, I think this type of situation was more common than one would think.
