Evil Clare Cunningham gets her comeuppance when she pushes one of her enemies too far. The scheming blonde (Gemma Bissix) is pushed off the Loft balcony night club in a summer whodunnit storyline. Gemma is keeping tight lipped about whether she will meet her maker.

I do kinda want her to die, because she has got away with too much, but kinda not, because she's quite interesting to watch.
But by the time she is pushed I will probably want her to die - she's starting to get a bit boring now.
But this sounds good! I hope it's one of the current characters, and not some new character that comes in for a few eps, just to push her.
It sounds a great storyline, i knew she was leaving in the spring time so this storyline would fit in quite well.
So who do you think could of done it, my suspects are Warren, Justin or possibly Max.
I agree she's been a great character but I think she's run her course, and is slowly getting stale. The moment Max found her out was the moment she should have died/ got sent to Jail.Quote:

I hope this isn't true, it would be a boring end to a interesting character. Surely the script writers would be able to come up with something more!
In Inside Soap it says that someone - Louise, Warren and Max are specifically named - tries to kill Clare as she bids to become even more evil than before.
I loved the louise and max storyline but i agree that she should have been killed off or left at that point, she is becoming boring now!

I'll admit being pushed off of a balcony isn't the most interesting way for her to die, but it's not too bad - it's better than an overdose, or something like that, and it's much better than her being sent to jail, even if she does deserve it.
My main suspects are Warren (we all know they've had their problems), Justin (as revenge for using him to get to Warren), Louise (for sleeping with Sean, or for all the stuff with Warren, since Louise could have started something with him, and when they went on a date (when Clare and Max were still together) Clare was being a bit of a cow, trying to get him to take the drugs, and everything), Max (the reasons are obvious), and OB (because of messing around with Max, since he's his best mate and it also broke them up, or it could be for being the reason why Mel was in the pub on the night of the fire, and for walking past when she saw Sam (that's if OB is still traumatised about Mel)).
Clare has so many enemies, it's impossible to choose!
The person I would most like it to be is Max (as long as he doesn't get sent down for it), since he is the person she has affected the most; but I would rather it be a character that we would be shocked to find out had done it, because, let's face it, none of us would be very surprised if it was any of the above.
Does Claire die then ? I think it could be Justin as he will be leaving soon or Max
It really could be anyone and i agree with lauraski its quite a good end to the character if she is going to die from this. Its far better then back of a taxi or going to prison. I like the sound of as she is set to become as evil as ever.
if she dies does that mean that max would get the nightclub back because they are still married aren't they??

My money's on Tom or OB pushing her off the balcony. As Tom has hated her from day one and she did try and drown the boy. He could take the blame for OB as he blames Claire for Mel being in the dog the night of the fire as she only came in with the disk for OB.
My money's on Mel.. back from the dead. :cool:

Apparently there was a clip on This Morning on ITV this morning, of Clare's death...did anyone see it? It is gonna be a whodunnit, apparently the suspects are going to be Louise, Calvin, Max, Warren or Justin..i can't wait!

Tonight's episode of EastEnders sees Gemma Bissix return to her Walford roots – and she couldn't be happier about resurrecting her character Clare Bates.
Clare – who was last seen in Albert Square nearly 10 years ago – makes a dramatic reappearance when she is thrown out of a car into the market.
Speaking of her return, the 24-year-old former Hollyoaks actress exclusively told DS: "I'm ecstatic. It really is fantastic. Clare's a deeper character [than Clare was in Hollyoaks] - I've got more scope with her and it's more of a challenge. I'm back home; I live with my best friend and I get to go home and see my family. It couldn't be better at the moment."
It soon becomes obvious that Clare has no money and nowhere to stay, so she attempts to find a familiar face in the form of Ian Beale (Adam Woodyatt). When she learns from Dot Branning (June Brown) that Ian has quite an 'empire', Clare takes more than a keen interest in the entrepreneur.
Speculating about her character's apparent air of mystery, Gemma said: "As far as mystery's concerned, I know she's not seen Nigel for a while – for about two or three years – and I know she went off to uni and has had a lot of jobs since.
"Her mystery comes from the fact that she's never felt settled. Her mother died, her father was abusive and she doesn't even know him. She's never felt like she's fitted in. Clare's 'mystery' is brought about by her looking for that father figure and needing that kind of attention, which then leads her into preying on the men of Walford."
She continued: "That's how she makes her money. Her forté is finding men with money and using her assets to entice them and rip them off – she even has a little black book to keep track of them!"
After nearly a decade away from EastEnders, Gemma revealed that she had a lot of catching up to do with Clare's story: "Myself, Diederick [Santer] and Dominic [Treadwell-Collins] had a characterisation session and we discussed what Clare's been doing and how she's got to where she is now."
She added: "Her back story has played a big part in how I'm developing the character."
Clare Bates returns to our screens in tonight's episode of EastEnders, which airs on BBC One at 8pm.
Clare was only brought back to Eastenders because Gemma was doing very well in Hollyoaks and she won a British Soap Award.
I think Gemma should have stayed in Hollyoaks
I loved Claire in Hollyoaks, but I think they'd done all they could with her character, the way her storyline ended was great :D
I'm looking forward to her on Eastenders, I didn't used to watch Eastenders while she was in it ages ago!

With Gemma leaving EE do you reckon she'll be returning to Hollyoaks sometime in the future? Do you want her to or have they gone as far as they can with her now?? Personally I reckon its only a matter of time before its announced shes coming back. Im sure Hollyoaks will have something up their sleeve for her :hmm: :cool:

I agree. It would also be better for her to play a totally different character in another soap, I'm sick of the bitchy money grabbing 'Claire' she has played in both soaps now, rather tiredsome.
did her and max get divorced?? if they didn't she would be entitled to all his stuff wouldn't she??
