its ok, i think i find it easier cos i had to know most of it for physics anyway, the only thing is I do m1, I've taken physics for 2 years now, my physics coursework was on projectile motion and I still cant do any kind of projectile question lol it just refuses to go in.Quote:
how are you finding that module? i found it the hardest maths module by far
My friend who does Maths with Mechanics finds it the hardest module. Maths is the subject she's doing the least well in but she got a C for C1 and then 4 marks or something for her M1 mock! I can't count how many times she's stayed after class/school to get extra help with it.
My other friend got an A* in GCSE Maths when she took it in Year 8. She got a B on M1 the first time she took it; the only Maths module she ever got a B on.
i found c1 really easy (i got 100% in that) and s1 and c2 were easy as well. but m1 the highest i could get was a high D i just had no clue what was going on! even when i thought i understood the formulas in lessons i had no idea how to apply them to the questions in the exam
Well I'm still feeling good about M1 but I think after the way C4 went today any hope i ever had of a good grade in maths has gone well and truley out the window :(
"Chamberlain's conduct of foreign policy from May 1937-September 1939 was sensible, if not un-heroic. How far do you agree with this opinion" Couldn't remember much in 1937, I could only think of the war between China and Japan. But now I see I have missed out the agreement between Italy and Britain, Nazi-Soviet pact and the Pact of steel. Damn damn damn
I wrote 9 and a half pages. I had a lot to say, which I guess is good, but I kind of ran out of time at the end. 1 hour is not enough!! Wrote a bad conclusion in that 10 minutes left panic. I don't think I failed but I spent far too much time describing the events.
No more British foreign policy thank goodness! (well unless I fail but lets not hope it comes to that )
9 and a half pages in an hour  As you say an hour isn't long and you probably couldn't have written about every event in that time anyway.
Well that synoptic paper was a waste of 3 hours, i swear i could have got a better mark - not actually turning up than i probably just did
Do they give you your predicted grade if you don't turn up then?
What subject was it Layne
Im sure it wasnt that bad
Unless you're one your deathbed and apply for special considerations through the school.
Abbie is right, why would the exam board give you a predicted grade if you can't be bothered to turn up to the exam?
My school used to charge us if we didn't turn up for an exam. Not just that exam paper but for all the exam papers for the subject. Same if you turned up, wrote your name on the paper and didn't answer any questions.
-Facepalm-
I hope it went better than I thought it did.
I hate hate hate OCR! The way they word their questions its like they are deliberately trying to confuse you. They are so obscure.
Its like...One question was is the wavelength of blue light higher than, lower than or the same as red light and then next one was is the frequency of red light higher, lower or the same as blue light.
I know they are supposed to test you but can they make it so I don't have to work out the question as well as the answer!
I am soooo sick of biology revision I feel like I know nothing and im going to fail, Im really stressed right now!
Leave the books for a couple of hours and chill  Too much revision will make your brain explode.
When are your exams? You'll be fine, you've done well in the others.
Today they told us that we are sitting the A2 Business exam in January! I hope my exams were ok as I will have so many in January otherwise.
I'm really praying for that 85% now otherwise I have to do a resit on my 18th birthday if I read the timetable correctly. And if I read it correctly also my Psychology and Economics Unit 3's will be on the same day  There is sooo much to know for them :(
Kim, you will be fine. It's better to do some exams in January, especially with A2, because it reduces the number of exams and stress in the summer exam period. And if you don't do as well as you hoped, you can do it again.
I had my first English exam on Monday on Paradise Lost. I don't think it went too well to be honest - I wrote four pages, though I could have added more to my answer to give a more balanced argument and I don't think I addressed the question fully... I had to say whether I thought Satan was essentially like a human by the end of Book 2. I discussed the presentation of his character and how I thought he only became more human to the reader by Book 2, and in Book 1, the reader would just admire him, but I didn't really discuss Milton's form or structure so I think I went wrong there!
Naah they don't take your predicted grade - its just an instant U, i was just over-exaggerating the point of my poop exam on monday.
It was english Abbie, it was awful - saw my teacher today and she agreed the extracts were horrible! But hopefully if everyone thought that the grade boundaries might be lower.
Psychology yesterday was okay - could have been better, but could have been ALOT worse!
English part 2 today - drama and poetry (Hamlet and Byron) was not bad at all - did the other question for Hamlet compared to everyone else but i thought it was a better option for me! And the byron question was good - i just hope the ramble i wrote constitutes a good mark  Just drama left next week now .... woo!
Lol I really can't tell when people are joking!
I did Hamlet for coursework this year. I would have hated to sit an exam on that. I wasn't a fan of that play and am now dropping the subject
Its not bad - i quite like it, but i think i would have enjoyed it more if i'd got into it more. We did King Lear for drama last year and i LOVED IT :)
Thank you :) We have to answer one question on a performance we've seen, and have to compare it to another century performance and then we have to answer some questions on Trojan women and how we would interpret it as a director, they are pretty tricky questions!
Cram and you'll be fine. :p
History sources today. The most boring exam ever. Question 1 was a bit funny because all the sources agreed. Had to find a couple of obscure counter arguments.
It went ok, I think. I put in everything he told us to so fingers crossed.
Annoyed at the stupid wording of question 2 though.
Thats what I am doing, cramming =S
Much more. It was "was Hitler's rule a despotic tyranny". I didn't know what that meant. I thought it meant the opposite to what it did. Handy.
There is so much more that I could have put if I had known it was totalitarian, I could have used own knowledge, which I hardly used.
I'm hoping the examiner will understand that I didn't know what it meant. Because to be fair I did present a for and against argument, which is what you are meant to. I am just annoyed that they had to word it so obscurely...its not like I was taking english.
And yes thank goodness.
My week from hell didnt end up going as bad as I thought, psychology went relatively well in the sense that the questions i wanted to come up did, physics was neither great nor terrible, M1 was a bit crappy but I've kind of given up on maths and then my chemistry resit went fairly well so I'm pleased. Cant believe I only have 2 exams left!
I have 4 left
On friday did unit 4 and 5 in biology
resit was good but unit 5 was very bad!
im sure youve all done better than you think :) have you had your unit 6 biology yet abbie?
Not yet, thats on wednesday.
I should be revising today BUT its my birthday and I dont want to :p
