You do need a valid form of of ID to travel to ireland, and some ferries companies will only accept a valid passport as identification.

If you travel from Scotland to Northern Ireland no id is requested as obviously both countries in UK. It's not a big run up from The Dales to Cairnryan. Unless Desperate Dan was a flight risk he wouldn't have to hand in his passport

Liam, for a doctor, he seems to lack sensitivity, just saying good morning to Bob as if nothing had ever happened.
