Did anyone not go?
Did anyone go but not enjoy it?
What are your thoughts on prom, do you think it's all hype?
Thanks :) x

We never had a prom. Wasn't that bothered either. I think it's over-rated.
I had a prom in year 11. It was quite fun, but a bit overated. The after-parties is what its all about
I went after much deliberation and mind changing. I'm glad I went although it did seem a bit like a kids' party. The meal was nice and the room was great but most of the people that were there I wouldn't want to see again.
The year 13 leavers' do is coming up at the end of May. That should be a lot better because the 6th form is much smaller, everybody gets on and we'll be able to drink. We also get to decide (argue!) what happens, where the venue is, what the dress code is etc
I think a big deal is made out of it. I know its a celebration of leaving school and seeing friends for possibly the last time before you go your seperate ways but it seems a bit hollow. Its like a birthday party but everyone is dressed up.
Thas just my opinion :)
I loved it, but it could of been better.....
Plus no one really had a party afterwards so it was like an anti-climax at the end

Same..our school was really cheap on it. The venue was at a room at rugby stadium...the DJ was rubbish  It was alright...not worth the money though, I'd rather have just had a party with my mates :p

Apparently our DJ is pretty *bad* and the girls organising it has not got really 'good taste' and likes rock music, which half the school like but not the other half.. So it's going to be a bit chaotic lol..
I don't think I am going to my prom (in June).. I know a girl is having a party sometime after that (her b-day) so I think I will go for that instead. Probably go on a holiday during prom time anyhow, so I am hoping but touch wood it all works out!
In ours we didnt given get a last dance kinda of thing, like not a slow song to end!!!
I loved our prom. Was a bit slow to start, you know everyone else is waiting for everyone else to get up and dance, but it was us that started it up :)
Nice way to end the year and a good way to say goodbyes to people.
But the after party was better :)
There was loads of little after parties with our year, different groups of friends and stuff - but i wouldn't of wanted to spend it with anyone else.
Year 12/13 ball is better, as one person organises the after party for the whole of the 2 years and everyone puts a bit of money in for it. Everyone is that bit older and so its a bit better.
I would recommend going to the prom to everyone :) Good excuse to get dressed up ;)
I loved my prom as well, i didnt go over board and neither did my mates. I think it was a nice way to end things. Lots of singing and things. I think it can get over hyped though.
I'm going to mine, mostly because my friends want me to go with them and also to share a limo. I'm not as excited as I was now I know the venue's definitely the one I didn't want (we took a vote on it,) and it's on a Wednesday because they couldn't get it booked for a Friday. We're also not allowed to drink before we go! Not looking forward to the stuffed animal's heads on the wall either; I don't think I'll be eating anything!

I have only ordered mine already as it is coming from america and will take 12 weeks to arrive
and laye, no one knows what my dress is either
my sister has hers this year she has spent a fortune already on dress and shoes but she is much more into clothes and things than i was. I think it is good as you can be as into it as you want.
Ours was quite exciting, we had the cops arrive and take people away which was really funny. Id forgotton about that.
Mines on 25th June, can't wait for it, should be a really good night! I'm starting to get really sad now that I'm leaving everyone...
Has everyone got their dresses yet?
I haven't haha although I'm a very late person,. I'm late for everything! so I'll most likely get it a few weeks beforehand. Theres too many to choose from, it's hard!
What kind of dress are you looking for?
Well I think I want red. At first I wanted one that sort of flared out and stuff, now I'm thinking I want one that goes straight down and has a low cut back to it, except I'd liek a dress which shows my figure and doesn't just look like a piece of material draping down from me ha.
Yeah I know what you mean, sounds quite nice :)
What kind of dress did you go for?
I had a halter neck dress, it was lowish at the back and low at the front but the 'halter' pieces still kept me covered. It came down just past my knee. The main colour was a goldy cream colour and a light brown tie under the must so it could tie into a bow
awehh that sounds nice, especially the bow.
oh and the bow went at the back, forgot to mention that. There is a pic of the dress somewhere on these boards
ahh okay would be nice to see it
