I am taking it the legs don't belong to the horse but to the person riding the horse, ie, the first person travelled 30 miles and the second 31 miles. If it is not that then I give up, give in and am going to my room to cry, which will prob upset my boss as I am meant to be working!!!

this is the actual riddle, before i just wrote it from memory, so this might make more sense i dont know:

"A horse travels a certain distance each day. Strangely enough, two of its legs travel 30 miles each day and the other two legs travel nearly 31 miles. It would seem that two of the horse's legs must be one mile ahead of the other two legs, but of course this can't be true. Since the horse is normal, how is this situation possible?"

Is the horse walking in a circle??? Is that why?? Am I right?

Go on, I am arent I - as if the horse is walking in a circle, then the legs on the inside are going to travel a shorter distance that the legs on the outside. Is that correct?? :D :D

heres the next one (bit easier this time spicy lol!):

"A man was found murdered on Sunday morning. His wife immediately called the police. The police questioned the wife and staff and got these alibis: The Wife said she was sleeping. The Cook was cooking breakfast. The Gardener was picking vegetables. The Maid was getting the mail. The Butler was cleaning the closet. The police instantly arrested the murderer. Who did it and how did they know?"

and in case anyone gets the above riddle before this evening, heres a harder one for you to try and work out:

"A sheik announced that a race would decide which of his two sons would inherit all his wealth. The sons were to ride their camels to a certain distant city. The son whose camel reached the city last would be given all the sheik's wealth. The two sons set out on the journey. After severals days of aimless wandering, they met and agreed to seek the advice of a wiseman. After listening to the wiseman's advice, the two sons rode the camels as quickly as possible to the designated city. What was it that the wiseman told the two sons? They did not agree to split the wealth, and their father's decree would be followed."

How do we know that he didn't die, if he left early?

Maybe the poison was like mercury, heavier than water and it sank, therefore taking a scoop of punch from the top of the bowl was not fatal, but the lower down the poison was more concentrated?

Pixie

David has to give robert 20 balloons

Robert started with 30 so david has 90 (3 times as many)

If david give robert 20 ballons then they both have 60.

Can I hijack this thread for a min. Here's a tough one that I did a few days ago - get your pens and papers out:

It's long and challenging but it's worth a try. Don't give up! Albert Einstein wrote this in the early 19th century and said that 98% of the world wouldn't be able to solve it.

1. In a street, there are 5 houses, each painted in a different color.
2. In each house, there lives a person of a different nationality.
3. Each homeowner drinks a different beverage, smokes a different brand of cigar and keeps a different pet.

HINTS
1. The Brit lives in a red house.
2. The Swede keeps dogs as pets.
3. The Dane drinks tea.
4. The green house is on the left of the White house.
5. The owner of the green hosue drinks coffee.
6. The person who smokes Pall Mall rears birds.
7. The owner of the yellow house smokes Dunhill.
8. The man living in the center hosue drinks milk.
9. The Norwegian lives in the first house.
10. The man who smokes Blends lives next to the man who keeps cats.
11. The man who keeps horses lives next to the man who smokes Dunhill.
12. The man who smokes Blue Master drinks beer.
13. The German smokes Prince.
14. The Norwegian lives next to the blue house.
15. The man who smokes Blends has a neighbor who drinks water.

THE QUESTION: WHO OWNS THE FISH? Also, are you in the top 2% of the world's intelligent people? Good luck and don't give up! Also, there are no tricks, just use pure logic.

Also, there are no tricks, just use pure logic.

heres the next one:

"Julie is going on an extended trip for three weeks. She lives in a remote area where there are frequent electrical power outages which can last up to three or four days. Julie has quite a bit of food in her freezer which would go bad if it thawed and then re-froze. She does have digital clock and a VCR which would flash 12:00 if the power went out. Unfortunately the clock and VCR flash even if the power only goes out for a few seconds. What can Julie do so that when she returns home she will be able to determine whether the power was out long enough to thaw her food? Asking a neighbour whether the power was out, isn't a reliable option because the nearest house is half a mile away, and one house may have power, while another house may have no power. She wont be able to have a neighbour check on her house every day, and has no one to house sit."

if the 1st sentence is true then the 2nd statement has to be false with make the 1st sentence false..

if the 1st sentence is false then the 2nd statement saying that 1st is true will make 1st sentence wrong..

does any of this make sense?
