EASTENDERS' actress Tracy-Ann Oberman thinks her character Chrissie Watts should be allowed to get away with murder.

Sexy Tracey has been at the centre of the Dirty Den killing storyline that reaches a climax on Monday.

An action-packed episode sees Sam Mitchell dig up Den’s body from under the cellar in the Queen Vic where Chrissie had buried it – just in time for his daughter Sharon’s wedding to Dennis.

"I think Chrissie deserves to get away with murder", Tracey told Now magazine.

"She was heavily provoked. I’d love to see her make it to Argentina from where she couldn’t be extradited.

"She could run a beach bar with a young Latin lover by her side."

And there are more fireworks at Den’s funeral, when Peggy Mitchell, played by Carry-On star Barbara Windsor, takes revenge on Chrissie.

Tracey - who is leaving the soap at the end of the year - revealed: "I’ve had more fights on EastEnders than most women have in their whole lives.

"Having Peggy slapping me and pushing me into Den’s grave ranks as an all-time high. "

:hmm: heavily provoked - what when Den grabbed her leg whilst lying on the floor - she couldn't really claim self defence though really could she ?! :rotfl:

Why not? It's hardly like she had bags of time to think about what to do. He did treat her like rubbish for all 6/7 years of their marrage and smash her head into the fruit machine. He got his sons girlfriend pregnant when he knew she wanted a baby. I would of killed him deliberately years ago!

 Sorry, but why didn't she just leave him when she found out about Kate - yes she put up with loads from him over the years, but she originally came to walford to get her money, she got it and she stayed - none of the above is any excuse to kill someone and then pin it on someone else - she provoked him, he provoked her. They were as bad and as selfish as each other. :D

Hope she gets away with it I'd hate for another strong female character to leave in the back of a police car we've been there done that with Janine let her run off with Jake Moon

Den was trying to kill her so Zoe hit him, Den grabbed her ankle she panicked lying to the others was a survial technique and as for leaving Den she couldn't he was her weakness she tried to leave him but took him back because she loved him she still does

Why would she? Did she know Sharon? What connection to Albert Square would she have after all this time?

Chrissie was a great character and I'd love to see her back.

In my humble opinion, the return of Sharon has not worked, I have always liked her character before but can't warm to her this time round ...if it happens, Chrissie will sleep with Max within 2 minutes of meeting him ...same old, same old ....

Ha ha...too true about sleeping with Max within 2 minutes! :rotfl:

I think Sharon's improved immensely recently and seems back to her old self again, although her storylines have been shocking up until now. I love her conniving with Marcus to fleece Phil.

I do agree that if Chrissie were to return it'd have to be written very well for it to work. I can't see her being brought back to be honest as the actress has never shown any interest in returning to my knowledge. I saw her recently in the Channel 4 comedy Friday Night Dinner and she was great as usual.

EastEnders has confirmed that Chrissie Watts will make an explosive return to the show next week and promises huge drama ahead for Albert Square.

In July it was announced that Tracy-Ann Oberman will be reprising her role as iconic villain Chrissie for a short stint after almost 20 years away from the show.

The character famously killed her ex-husband Den Watts before covering up the crime for a while together with Zoe Slater and Sam Mitchell.

But after Sam was originally found guilty, Chrissie was eventually charged with murder and sent to prison, with her last appearance airing in 2005.

It has now been confirmed that Chrissie?s big comeback will air next week ? though the details surrounding her return are being kept tightly under wraps.

On Monday, September 9, Chrissie will be seen on screen for the first time in nearly two decades.

EastEnders has promised that drama will ensue, but it remains to be seen what her current circumstances are and what she is up to now.

During the week, Chrissie?s presence will send shock waves through Albert Square, though it isn?t specified just who will be affected by her return.

Sharon isn?t having a good week, having been found in contempt of court while giving evidence at Dean?s murder trial.

But things might get a lot worse for her if she sets eyes on her former stepmother Chrissie again, and it?s a reunion that is sure to bring fireworks.

Also still in Walford is Kat, who also didn?t see eye to eye with Chrissie during her time on the Square, especially as she embroiled her sister Zoe in murder ? so she might not be best pleased to see Chrissie again either.

The drama will continue across the episodes next week, and the soap has teased that there will be "difficult" times that come to a climax in the episode that will air on Thursday, September 12.

This week, Oberman revealed that her favourite moment from Chrissie?s previous stint in EastEnders was when her character was punched in the face by the late Barbara Windsor?s Peggy Mitchell.
