He insisted on being told and the way medics are now its highly likely they would have told him. When I was told my father had terminal cancer I was told by the doctor that if I didn't tell him they would. I know people have a "right to know" but sometimes knowing is not always the best thing. We watched my father's condition rapidly deteriorate once we told him.

This storyline about Paul has great possibilities, lets hope its not overshadowed by the Canadian mass murderer.

Sorry to hear of your experience. - Yes Paul did insist on knowing, but since the doctor herself admitted more tests were needed to confirm if he does have MND she could have said that they did not know yet what was wrong. That would be a truth and save him from premature worrying. If further tests do confirm he does have MND, then it will be time to tell him, and destroy any hope he has of recovery.

I see the comedy scriptwriters have been let loose on Mary's lines about her visit to Napoli once, '...when I was young, carefree and full of spunk'
I just had to snigger at the thought of Mary full of spunk.

Knowing Mary as we do, I would not think that was the first and only time she has been "full of spunk".
