    I don't know enough about the social care system but this does seem a very strange unnatural arrangement. Surely it would be better to monitor Abi and Alfie's relationship and how she looks after him in a more natural environment, i.e., at home with her husband and stepson.

    Wendy is a foster carer who hopefully can see any signs of Abi not coping .. I think that is what they are trying to demonstrate... never heard of it myself but then never been in that situation nor do I know of anyone who has done this. And of course it is a fabulous way to re-introduce Wendy Crozier (now Papadopoulos -- is he the one that owned the launderette in Albert Square )

    It may be that Abi's plan will be to sit on the settee holding the baby while she is waited on.
